Allegiant votes for Teamsters

It has nothing to to with Allegiant specifically. There is some policy stuff going on internally at ALPA right now that pertains to any organization drives.

Thats weird. In the sense that any organzation drive that's viable and has a good chance of passing, would be good to have for the organization?......or am I out to lunch?

I do not think you are. I do not know for certain but I would speculate that some people whom are running the national association are more interested in what will help them personally (or their own airline of origin personally) than what would help the entire Association or the trade as a whole. But that is just speculation.

The downside of any organization.....be it a union, a management team, a fighter squadron, a sports team, or a girl scouts troop........there will always be those individuals who are out for their personal interests, rather than whats best for the organization they represent.

First, we haven't had an organizing drive at Skywest in something like 7 years. It's been so long since I worked it that I can't even remember the exact year. And when we were working on that drive, it was their pilots who came to us requesting help in organizing under ALPA. ALPA has never sought to organize anyone that didn't come to us first.

Second, Duck is right. No one is getting an organizing drive with ALPA right now. Not the big carriers, not the little carriers. Everyone treated the same. So your argument still holds no water. Again, as usual.

Whatever, dude. I don't care when it was. The point is that Skywest came to ALPA two times and failed, and yet, when they came a third time, ALPA expended time and resources to log a third failure. Allegiant comes to ALPA, and ALPA tells them to pound sand. So apparently ALPA is not seeking to organize anyone whether they come to them or not.

ALPA has only tried to organize the Skywest pilots twice. The other time was an in-house independent union drive that failed.

Right now, that's correct. Until the past couple of years, that was not the case, however.
