Allegiant has posted for it's next class. Anticipated start date of Sept. 11, 2023. Class of seven.

Posting will close in seven days.

Is AAY still working 4 on 3 off/10 hours or did the new TA get them closer to industry standard hours worked?

Class start date has been moved to September 18th.
That makes me feel somewhat better about not hearing anything considering how soon that is. Also. Just an interesting choice to make 9/11 the start date. Seems like bad juju. Thank you for posting that update!

So would it be safe to assume if we haven’t heard anything yet, then we haven’t been selected or should I still hold onto hope?
This class was mainly filled with internals so more than likely. Competition was much higher this class with applicants from Delta, American, Jetblue, and Spirit.

There is never really a hard deadline for interviews. They will do them up to the time a 2 weeks is needed for a current employer. Even then, they have had instances of interviewing last second to fill a spot that was backed out of or otherwise vacated in the first day or two of class. Now with a new pay scale there are a lot more apps coming from airlines beyond the regionals and I know that several of those were being looked favorably at by management.

I remember seeing in the other thread about Allegiant wanting to get those with more experience with their new pay scale. They certainly can demand it but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised to hear people from legacies wanting to throw their hat in the ring as well.

With both Allegiant and Frontier now paying a decent living wage, it seems like they’re trying to stop themselves from becoming a revolving door or a step to the legacies. Good for them. But at the same time, where does that leave those that are still at the regionals?

Frontier’s class just started today but that group was selected in the middle of their negotiations, so I’m curious to see if their next class (slated for later this year / early next year from what I’ve heard) will also bring in more mainline and legacy talent. Your move, Spirit.

I could only speculate on the reasons someone at a legacy would desire to come to a ULCC. The other side of the coin is that there are those here that want to elevate to a legacy dispatch shop. With the new pay scale there probably won't be as many looking to leave but then there are only single apps coming in from the legacies.

I can see getting interest from JetBlue or Spirit, looking for a lower cost of living/different part of the country...really surprised there were applicants from AA or DL though. Perhaps recent hires who discovered they hated DFW or ATL. But that would seem to be a big career pay cut, over time.

Probably the different part of country would be my guess. Besides the low COL and good BBQ, Dallas is pretty meh. LAS area at least has some great hiking/outdoor activities- although Atlanta isn’t terrible in that regard.
