So far I'm winning with the Macchi M.C.72

It still holds the seaplane speed record at 440mph. Powered with a Fiat V-24 of 3,100 hp. I wonder what that sounds like? Imma build a replica if I could find a motor. Then, I'll fly it to OSH and be the first seaplane to ever win overall Grand Champion. Then you'll all respect and fear me.

Its a staggerwing, but bigger, faster, longer range, and with retractable gear. LIONHEART FTW!!!

They look neat in the air and all - but how do you like its looks on the ground? It needs something in my view. The gear legs look way too spindly for the airplane and it kind of kills the ramp appeal a bit for me.

Can someone explain the advantage of this setup to a standard multi? Im guessing there is none because I have never seen one of these on the ramp.

You would be wrong. Rutan compares it to a P-Baron, but it's faster, goes farther, and uses less fuel. At the same time, it eliminates the yaw problems with an engine failure in a twin.
