Here's another vote for pipeline-it'd be fun for a while, but to do it for 40,000 hours like one pipeline guy I met... no thanks.

A DE I know did the balloon training for a guy and his wife. Turns out they really liked the DE... so the guy asks the DE if he wants to get checked out in an F-5. Yeah, the Northrop F-5. Mind you, this DE had no fighter experience, so he say "What the hey, of course." This DE then gets to fly the F-5 around the country supporting "the guys" private airplane collection at air shows. DE also gets checked out in a few of the airplanes in the collection. DE eventually gets tired of the extra travel and stops doing it.

I know it's not flying... but ramp.

Not a bad way to work through your ratings but the novelty of chucking suitcases in the freezing rain at 4am under a screaming APU starts to wear off. Honestly any kind of flying job is an improvement.

Thought of another one. Grand canyon tours. I have a few good friends that have done it and said it was a blast. To a point.
