Airplane crash at PBI

The unfortunate thing too, is that you'll have to get used to it in the world of aviation. It certainly won't be the last event like this you'll experience if you keep aviation as a career. I can count on almost 5 hands the number of people off the top of my head I personally knew as friends or acquaintences who perished in aviation accidents. And I've witnessed first-hand 8 of those accidents, with an additional number of them where I didn't know anyone.. Its the suck side of this business. At first, you're shocked at it occurring. Sadly, after it constantly recurring, you just become numb.

Condolences.

Lost a couple buds too. Accidents like this should serve as a reminder that, while likely not applicable to this accident, complacency is a pilots worst enemy.

After the Candle light Vigil on friday evening and todays memorial service, it really shows how many people were truly touched by this accident and care about those involved and their families. Its great to see the support for all. RIP the crew of N883FT you will never be forgotten!

Ugh, one of the girls posted this on her FB page ...

flying to the bahamas with Kris as PIC!!! please don't text/call me from 8am til about 8pm...gonna be a great day!

Sends chills down your spine. Absolutely horrible :(

Chills... you got that right... Ralph and I heard a PA-44 with a girl's voice at one of the Bahamas airports en route.... the same day, Wouldn't have thought anything of it... except it was a Seminole in the Bahamas which is unusual.

My most sincere condolences. However, part of being in aviation is that accidents are discussed openly. As facts come out, they will be discussed, and rightly so, as we all can learn from things like this, and make our industry safer.

I think that's the point, have to wait until the facts are out before discussing what happened. Before that, it is only speculating and that doesn't accoplish much in terms of lessons learned.

One of the flight students from the wing here in Kingsville asked for emergency leave due to two cousins being killed in Florida, at this airport. I assuem these folks were them. So sorry for the families.
