Airlines with Co-Domicile Ops

Kind of like my PBS example.

Don't look at us as a symbol of PBS, which most of us love. It's PBS + PWA + Software + the human "infrastructure" that make it good at my carrier.

But I wouldn't suggest it to anyone without ALL of the above.

(Ain't I right, @WMostellar? :) )

Agreed - all the pieces must be in place...

Please keep in mind that while there is money to be saved in this by the company, there are also benefits to the pilots in having a co domicile as well.

Aroo? Other than having parking at two airports to travel out of on your time off, what benefits are there to the pilots?

YOU DAMNED RIGHT! :)

I kept hearing "Well, Delta guys love PBS!"

Yeah, "but…" PBS as per our contract and PBS what I had experience with at DLX was like comparing a a freshly tapped keg at a fraternity party to a Tyrannosaurus Rex barging into your Quinceañera.

So co-terminal can be good, or can be your worst absolute nightmare.

Cocktails bring out the metaphors, sorry.

Sounds very very familiar.

Our PBS is great, but when the ERJ guys heard PBS they stuck their fingers in their ears.

No kidding. Unless you live between LGA and JFK it would actually be a pain in the ass. Live on the wrong side of either and this becomes a bad thing.

No kidding it benefits the pilots for co-domicles. Much more flexibility in scheduling month to month.

I'd take a better commute to work over flexibility in scheduling every day.

Even as a junior guy if they opened DCA as a base I'd be livid unless some money was thrown my direction. An unnecessary complication in my life that I don't want.

Cut that out.

It's "depending" on the contract.

It can turn a lot of people that are able to get to work on time into "miscreants" for showing up late depending on the rules.

Don't go all "Anakin Skywalker" on The Don. :)

Well, for some it may be easier to commute to say LGA over JFK. But then December comes around and one can hold Christmas off and New Years Eve off if they do trips out of JFK. Gives them the option to do that. Aren't options good?

Cut that out.

He just asked a question which I answered!

It's "depending" on the contract.

Of course.

Can you show me where I stated that it should be agreed upon of the work rules suck? Don't be all 'drama-like' @amorris311 ...

:)

I am not.

I'm not interested in upsetting DL management. I say we get out as much money as possible, as soon as possible.

I would entertain a flow, too. ;)

Pilots from other airlines couldnt wait to tell a Mesaba guy a flow doesn't work, they were worthless, they didnt need them. Now it seems like every pilot at this company thinks a flow is the answer.

Really? Seems you were the one that needed it. How many people came to support your holier than thou thought processes?

Give me a break and take some fiber.

It wasn't 'holier than thou', it was 'it's not a bad deal, just make sure things are in order'. You were the one spouting off '60 million dollars' for co-domicile basing, talking over me on the phone and not letting me make my point....

So 'pound sand' was January. 'Dont put words in my mouth' is February. Is 'take some fiber' a glimpse at march?

Spouting off? No that would be you taking snippets of a phone conversation and placing them to fit your "argument". Several times and several people told you that you were on your ass. When I was wrong I admitted it and said I was wrong. When have you done that lately? So yes I'm going to stand by my earlier convictions that you have a holier than thou attitude.

How am I on my ass Andrew? Point out where I said that co-domiciles should be agreed upon even if the work conditions suck. Find where I said that and I will apologize to you.

I will be here waiting to do that for a looooong time.

Stop putting words in my mouth to create drama and then talk over me when I tell you I never said that.

Didn't you relate this to flight attendants being able to do it, so pilots should too? I don't care enough to keep fighting you on this. You will never say you are wrong yet people continue to show you that you are on your ass. Hell, even @Derg related you to Anakin Skywalker. Do you know what happened to Anakin Skywalker? I'll help you if you don't know. Get a table fan and say, "luuuuuuuuke I am your faaaaaaaather" into it. That might help you understand.
