Just FYI going to Perth to dive the GBR is like going to Los Angeles to see the statue of liberty
Perth is completely on the opposite side of oz from the GBR......I believe cairns or Brisbane are your best options for the reef. Have fun
Thanks for all the great ideas, everybody!
I hadn't even thought about hostels for accomodations. Any tips on that sort of thing?
Guys you dont dive in Perth. You come to Perth so we can go up to Coral Bay and Ningaloo reef. The GBR isnt the only reef system here. From Port Hedland to Coral bay is untouched. I was just up there a month ago eating mud crab on the beach and swimming with whale sharks. Yes its more of a hike and would be easier to fly from SFO or LAX to BNE.
You come to Perth and Ill take you up there and we sleep on the beach, eat crabs, catch sharks and dive dive dive. However we have had 5 kills in the last 12 months from white pointers, making WA waters the most dangerous in the world.
When would you be coming over regardless of where you choose?
Im in the states most of Sept. For selfish reasons do Oz a different time and we'll do a proper meet and greet in Oz later down the track. Or do it twice. Hell if you had time we go up to the Philippines or a couple other sweet spots.
Can a regional pilot with Delta/United benefits list for a jumpseat internationally on a different airline, say Emirates, (in hopes of getting a free seat in the back) or would it have to be a paid ZED?
