Airforce AD and Reserve Pay

Excellent. Just wanted to confirm that was the truth.

"ian": how much of that 1750 every 2 weeks is BAH? Or is your "housing allowance" automatically deducted from your pay each month?

yeah i am in UPT until Feb. BAH is 914/month here, and i am pretty sure it is the same at all UPT bases. I live off base so my BAH is part of that. That total includes base pay/ bah/ bas/ flight pay/ 10 bucks a month to CFC, and SGLI for both myself and my wife, and dental for her.

I have an allotment going to a savings account that i never see the money, but i included that money in my 1750 calculation

our rent is 750/month for a 3br/2.5 bath 1700 sq foot house, the guy who was my best man actually lives in the upstairs portion of the house and pays rent too so our rent is actually 400/ month

You in 449/450 or 446?

If the latter, I will break your face due to jealousy.

Don't worry, I've been banished to live in 450. I loved the part of the briefing about plugging up the drains every night so you don't get a roach infestation.

I've forgotten 5 out of the last 7 nights, and am yet to see a roach. I don't run my heat at night though, so I'm sure there are warmer places for those fuggers to go.

Let's booze this weekend. You staying here?

Man, I saw those things all the time! I laid out some poison for them and that took care of 'em. I hated those old dorms; they were infested with mold--caused me to get kicked out of the altitude chamber because I was all stopped up. I thought they tore them down and built new dorms, didn't they?

I'll be here bro. Just gimme a call. I'll PM you my cell number. I'll also be at the O-Club tonight for this mandatory interview with the OG.

There is a really new one and two relatively older ones, but I don't know when you came through here so it's hard to say what "old" dorms you're talking about. I did think it was pretty funny when the housing guy started talking about how bad the roach problem is and then finished with, "The Air Force goes to great lengths to make sure you LT's are confortable for pilot training." Yeah, nothing says comfort like roaches crawling all over you and your stuff.

I went through in 2004-2005; the dorms were pretty old then and they were just starting construction on new dorms.

I'm pretty sure they're the same ones then. The housing guy (Jessie, he's been here since 2000, so you might remember him) kept talking about how old the furniture and appliances were and most were from around the 2000 timeframe. A buddy of mine is in the new ones and not only are they nicer, they're considerably larger. I'm with Raggio on this one, I'm jealous.

"Okay EL TEE, You gonna be in building 449."

"Now, keep in mind EL TEE, that the roaches looooooove to come inside, so keep those drains stopped up, okay EL TEE?!"

Fesko, just rang you up. I'm on beer 2.

Yea, I remember Jesse. Damn, sucks if you're stuck in the old dorms for a whole year. Perhaps it should be seniority based; you know, when you get to Phase III you get to move into the new dorm. I mean, the old dorm wasn't horrible, but it does have a roach and mold problem. Plus, the A/C temperature was selected for you; you could only choose to accept the air, or reject it.

Geez, what's wrong with you? I'm on #5!

sorry if this is off topic, but what qualifications did you have to get selected by both? and what does air force AD mean?
