Position Description


Performs as primary flight crewmember and responsible for proper configuration of cargo compartment. Plans and places cargo and equipment onboard transport aircraft for strategic, tactical, airdrop, and test & evaluation flights. Calculates aircraft weight and balance and assures aircraft is within flight limits. Knowledgeable, experienced, and qualified in personnel and cargo aerial delivery methods. Understands airdrop platform and bundle rigging techniques and the aircraft aerial delivery system. Familiar and understand aircraft systems, strategic and tactical airlift, personnel and cargo aerial delivery, and test and evaluation methods and techniques. Assist with technical and operational reports for company and customer engineering. Performs prescribed tasks for human factors evaluation as related to logistic and airdrop systems and flight operations. Assist with the development of test plans and test cards. As primary crewmember, conducts Acceptance and Functional Check Flights (ACF/FCF) and company production first flight. Assists and provides instruction to US and foreign nation Loadmaster customers for aircraft system use and operations. Reviews Technical Order and related flight publications for accuracy and completeness. Assist engineering with understanding of customer needs, aircraft design, system requirements, and implementation of new or improved aircraft system and procedures. Job requires previous military experience and C-17A Loadmaster qualification.

Complete knowledge of techniques to help identify a customer's organization, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, problems, and other constraints in order to provide effective product support and technical issue resolution.

Complete knowledge of load planning, operational tasks (e.g., normal and emergency checklists, aerial delivery, combat off-load), flight test operations, and functional/acceptance check flights.

Complete ability to safely operate aircraft systems per the appropriate flight manual and procedures.



Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Are you or have you ever been a C-17A Loadmaster Flight Examiner?

Are you or have you ever been a C-17A Airdrop Qualified Instructor or Flight Examiner Loadmaster?

Are you or have you ever been a qualified C-17A Development Test & Evaluation Loadmaster with Airdrop qualification?

As a C-17A qualified Loadmaster have you accomplished Functional Check Flights (FCF) and/or Acceptance Check Flights (ACF) on the C-17A aircraft?



Typical Education/Experience


Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
