Why do they use such a mx hog to pick up a couple of people? Why not just send a bizjet?Sheldon Addison has an SP out of LAS to pick up rich gamblers. It sounds terrible when it takes off.
It might be another airframe that is coming down the pipeline.LOL if they think Boeing is going to keep the 747-8 line open for another 8 years (96 months) at the rate they're selling (I count 62 delivered+21 ordered).

It did make my eye twitch.
Please tell me how many 747-200s you see flying around these days.
I watched a -400 being scrapped here in MWH. I think they trucked the aluminum across the street to the Budweiser plantNot a ton, but still a few.
Bunch of -100/-200/-300 and even -400 being expedited to the scrapping line here where I am.
According to our latest propaganda from our financial folks (publicly available) there are only about 20 747 Classic freighters running around (I think most of those are Connie's). Throw in a couple SPs running about (Casino, the Jesus jet in CAK and Iran Air), that's it except for gubment jets.
Those old junk 744s rolled off the line before a lot of the JC population was a gleam in Papa's eye. With the number of factory freighters, and inherent load limitations of converted jets, I don't think you'll see many pax jets converted.
I could be totally wrong, too.
Meh, if I had the money to own and operate a 747SP, I would. He has those too. No idea why he has the SPs and a 763. Maybe to make an impression. The guy is a dingleberry.
I agree with you there. Not sure how this would pan out. Then again, this is the gub'ment.LOL if they think Boeing is going to keep the 747-8 line open for another 8 years (96 months) at the rate they're selling (I count 62 delivered+21 ordered).
