I'm serious. $125/month to live in a hangar is a lot more spacious (and better neighbors thus cooler parties) than $600/month studio apartment.

In Mesa. 1) I'm living in West Lafayette, Indiana, the only studio apartments are near campus (which makes rent go ^^^$$$) and 2) the place to live in the Valley is C-town. You know it. I used to live right at the 101 and 202, which is now a pinnacle of commercial greatness. The CF Center (named after myself), home to some of the finest 13 year old [female] booty around. Wait, what?

An ex of mine just bought a house either in Mesa or Gilbert. The restraining order prohibits me from finding out. :sarcasm:

dooooode I know where you live.

Do you have a car? Cause man your gettin screwed in rent with no ky jelly. $600 to live in a studio on top of myself no thanks... I used to live in CVG so IN. wasn't too far it was pretty cheap to live there. I'm sure it can't be that expensive to live in West Lafayette away from campus that is.

Your right bout C-town bein of da heeeezy. I'd like to live there or east, east Mesa but the latter would have to wait till I got some serious money.

Chandler Fashion Center is still a pederast wetdream on Fridays, weekends and school vacations. Maaaan those middle school/highschool chicks can be aggressive with a brotha...! But no means no!!!

The morning flight to DTW went amazingly smooth, except that it was colder than a witch's t.....well let's just say it was really cold at 5:30 am with no APU.

An APU whats that? Try preflighting, running up, and doing other preflight checks with a plane that has been sitting out in Albany or Augusta Maine all night! ;)

Believe me dude - I've been there....we used to do alot of overnights in ALB in the Dash - even when we did have an operating APU I froze my ass off just getting it going. It gets cold up there.

2 years ago there was no shortage of cheap stuff if you weren't afraid to cross the river. They've built a lot of units in that town, it should be a renters market.

No doubt. Crashpads suck. Unless you're very young and don't mind college dorms-style communal living.
I WISH my crashpad was like that! I am the youngest in there by at least 25 years and usually it is just me. Although, I get to pay $300.00 a month for this joy.

Yeah, for some reason the walk-arounds seem to get shorter in the winter up in the northern states.....

jason, i think i have flown with you once. Were MSP based for a while? last name stars with F?

Damn I've got it good!
Currently I am based in New Bern NC. Really small town with a population of 25K. I own a home in Fort Lauderdale FL. So I sort of commute. Being on reserve I go home on my 4 "golden" days off. My other days off I stay in New Bern. I have a crash pad. But its not like the usual crash pad. My wife has family in New Bern so I am staying with her Aunt. For free. 3 Bed 2 bath house with just the Aunt only 15 min from the airport. So I have my own bedroom and bathroom. High speed internet, HD cable TV with a kick but Sony 40" Bravia LCD HDTV (that I "helped "Aunt Izzy pick out). And guess what? She never watches TV! Right next door is a big empty farm field that I can fly my RC plane in. :nana2:

The Bad news: The wife and I are buying a new house in Raleigh. A 1 hour 40 min drive.

Awesome!

As i said sometime before, i've got family in New Bern! It really is a small city man, but kind of quaint and nice, i guess. The drive from raleigh isnt too bad. Some good music, and a decent car and you're set. It's actually a pretty beautiful drive!

Do you go to church? If so, which one?

Nope, no 'F' in my name - I was in MSP as an FO, never as a CA.

When the crap did the definition of 'small town' go up to 25,000??? I grew up in a town of 6,000....my parents both grew up in towns where their graduating high school class had about 15 people in it -and those were someo f the bigger classes the school had!

Jason, Buy an old trashed out RV. Or buy a truck and tow a "prowler" camper behind ya. You can switch bases and always have a crashpad.

Don't knock the RV thing ... it's workin for me. The great thing isif you don't like your neighbors, just move! :)

Man - I was hoping you wouldn't find me!! Sometimes my wife uses my AOL so if you didn't get a response that may be it - I don't remember getting any emails though. Just working and taking care of the baby. Getting ready to embark on a new career that's going to leave me alot of time and flexibility to 'pursue other interests'... I'll email ya' after the little one goes to sleep.
