It definitely wasn't renewed today. I'm glad none of the kids got hit as they came past the fence but I wonder how much longer they would have stayed airborne if they hadn't turned. It'll also be interesting to see how much overweight they were since the technician survived.

It's at sea level, this thing must have been pretty overloaded, because I use to see them in Bogota take off with a decent climb rate, at 8900'...
 
Could also be an engine loosing power late past V1, they had a loader with them, so you'd guess this a/c was properly loaded... It'll be interesting to know what really happened. For unprofessional and approximative these crews are, they're also old experienced guys who know the airplane inside/out.
 
It appears as though searching on youtube for Aerosucre 727 takeoffs is synonymous with "seediest 727 operator takes off- will they actual get off the runway and clear the terrain?"

Apparently the flight technician (i'm guessing that's the equivalent to an A/P) survived, should shed some light if he remembers any of it.
 
He's the FE, so yes he might, on the other hand he might not want to if something shady was done... The FDR/CVR will talk though.

Me too, luckily I've got a nice Mexican restaurant that delivers in my neighborhood. They don't offer a Mucho Macho, but they do offer a Mucho Loco burrito, basically the largest tortilla physically possible with what would normally fill three burritos. I've finished it three times out of five attempts. $8.00.
 
In the video taken just from the left side of the airplane on the road at the end of the runway, you can see the number 2 spitting flames after they'd crossed the road. So possibly a compressor surge causing a power loss and an inability to climb as a causal factor, or maybe the turbine ingested debris as it was passing through the forest.
