Aero Crew News

Oh the similarities are striking.

Aero Crew News just runs a ton of sponsorships and doesn't report them as such. Pretty sure that is illegal.
What do you think the entire world is.

Everything you see on a daily basis is sponsorships. Ads on tv? Watching a movie and they go to McDonald’s? Sponsorship
Micro influencer endorsing a product online? Literally everything

Want an article about your product in a publication? Pay and it’s going to be published

It’s always been this way. Always

Did I say sponsorships are bad or shouldn't exist?

I am merely complaining about a single aspect of sponsorships. A sponsorship that can skew/bias content should be clearly made known to a consumer. The FTC seems to agree as they have made regulations for clear sponsorship communication to protect consumers from being blindsided.

BTW, you are making a very poor argument. Just because something has been completely common in the past and/or even now doesn't necessarily make it right or the best path forward. Just imagine if we took that stance in the airlines with safety or contract improvements.

Also not every example you give has the same impact. For example having a McDonalds in a movie does not bias the actual content in a meaningful way. The story doesn't change and one can argue it can help draw you into the story more as it more closely resembles reality than a generic product.

We have changed a lot in society and if people took your stance we would be stuck with a lot of bad crap we no longer deal with today

This post for example is horrible. It looks like ACN is endorsing RAA. They even have a link to the ACN website. When you click the link it is just a redirect to the RAA site. This post is an undisclosed ad. Not news.

It's a Facebook post, bro.
It is an example of what they do on a regular basis.

Here are the social media guidelines from the FTC.

I've read the guidelines. I don't see any violations here. It's an obvious advertisement.

And just like that the pilot shortage is over…

That just shows production of 190-250 hour pilots is strong, but for the 121 sector those commercial pilots need more time and another training event (ATP-CTP & ATP checkride) before they're viable to the 121 world. It also means that 9,999 pilots are about to hit the internet and post "Just got my CP-ASEL, AMEL, complex endorsement and looking for a job, not really interested in instructing, what else is out there?" Another factor is many of those pilots are going to encounter some sort of hardship while trying to achieve those hours needed for the ATP (impatience, legal or medical, domestic) and leave the industry before 'making it'.

Later today I have some free time and I'll see what the latest dump of airmen statistics looks like, i.e. issuance of ATPs year over year and see how it compares to CPL issuances.
