AA Hiring

Any of you who was picked as external candidate, do you have any military background? I just noticed that three of my coworkers who got hired previously, also served in military.

Actually, connections with people in dispatch have been very important this time around because that was one of the easiest ways to quickly figure out who to call especially for external applicants. Even that is not a guarantee given the huge amount of IOC internals that are well known to everyone. Connections outside of the dispatch group probably will not help you much as long as we are getting thousands of applications. Plenty of people in dispatch have friends and family they want to have hired. Until that supply line is exhausted, I would expect that it will be tough to get interviewed.
 
Took the test and interviewed on Monday. The test was pretty basic, it was 50 questions with a mix of short answer and multiple choice(No essay, I think they did away with that.). They did a really good job testing a wide variety of subject matter with a relatively short test . As far as the group interview goes I am not a big fan. I understand it is more efficient at getting the interview process done but I think it does not do a good giving everyone a fair chance to answer the questions. For example: If there are 5 people in the room and the interviewer asks each person the same thing and I am chosen last between the other four people answering the question, it is hard to add much more to the answer when the other four people have said all the things that I might have said...
 
Well then...in that case, best of luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow! Maybe I'll get a call next round, or the one after that, or the one after that lol.

Yes, I had military experience as an air traffic controller and connections internally despite being an external candidate.

Ah dude didn't know you applied, man that would have been great for my seniority...I assume.
