AA Hiring Soon

I was going to say poor Piedmont got left out. They really are the red-headed step children of AA (for some reason unknown to me). In fact, the only dx I personally know at AA had to leave Piedmont to go to Endeavor and then was hired on at AA a little while later. I don’t understand why they're another wholly owned but get overlooked so much. 🤷🏻‍♀️

PDT is definitely the red headed stepchild, but there are 2 that went directly from PDT to AA and one other that was hired by US before the merger.
 
An official flow agreement for Envoy, PSA and FPS would make sense and save time doing interviews with a bunch of external candidates that they dont intend to hire. A few bad eggs might flow in but it would be a lot more fair and transparent than the process we have now.
The flow agreement for the pilots is mostly about keeping staffing stable at the regionals due to the pilot shortage, not so much about finding candidates for mainline. Unless there is a shortage of dispatchers at the regional level, it is unlikely mainline management would concede their ability to pick and choose for a flow.

It’s because their hiring manager or Dispatcher Director is a doucher who black balls Piedmont applicants

The dispatch director actually has nothing to do with the hiring process at all. What I have actually heard is people above them have given veto power to the Piedmont Dispatch Manager because Salisbury Maryland is not really a place where people would want to go and dispatch, so replacing dispatchers is harder there which of course affects the flight schedule so to keep talent in place they have this arrangement. At least this is what people have told me, and I have no way to confirm this of course.

One other thing in play too is there is a recent history of a piedmont dispatcher or two washing out at Mainline. Envoy is a proven commodity.

Also I have heard the breakdown of the incoming class.

1 Jetblue
1 SkyWest
1 PSA
7 Envoy
3 Internals (All from FPS)

Yes airlines sometimes hire externals vs internals, and then sometimes hire internals and exclude externals. But as far as hiring from the streets, I am a bit skeptical AA does that.

So far on this forum you have

  1. Inquired as to whether or not Allegiant would hire someone with ops experience but no dispatch experience.
  2. Inside of a month later, complained that Alaska wouldn't hire you because you were "too old." Called them Pathetic. I asked you then if you had any experience at all, given your earlier post. And If you had no experience, i asked you whether you can blame a major for not hiring you when you're not an internal. You didn't reply. Why is that?
  3. Stated you hung up on Mountain Air Cargo a year prior when they told you what they pay. Given you posted that in 2024 that would mean this happened in 2023, so You.. ya know... could have acquired enough experience to go to AA... But ... putting in actual time in this field for someone willing to give you a chance is seemingly beneath you.
So, my suggestion is to look into a truck driving school.

Some advice….Venting online will make you feel better now. Also know that it can backfire on you as well. Mgmt / mgmt adjacent have been known to lurk around these parts and with dispatch already being a small group, you’ll quickly find more doors closing on you. Best of luck in your job search

AA hired some dispatchers kid who worked at home depot. It was the first and only job they ever had and they hired him. I know this for a fact.

I have to agree with NearestAlternate on this one. It seems like the familial aspect is just, if not more a weight when it comes to hiring at AA at times. I have seen many people cross the line over to AA who couldn't even handle a desk, or if they could only barely. Fresh, not even through a season dispatchers. Maybe things are changing now as the market becomes more competitive, or at least one would hope. It's a shame to see some truly exceptional dispatchers get passed up time and time again.
 
There's plenty of people up there that got hired that didn't pass the test. Miranda???? GK hires who he wants (like the entire Bodrie family line) and claims it's the test when no one can even see the grades.
So you claim plenty of people got hired that didn't pass the test, and even call people out by name, then admit "no one can even see the grades," which means you're talking straight out of your APU exhaust pipe.
