Because he knows all anytime there's an incident involving an aircraft. He's the best at knowing!

Nah. It’s audio online.

Supposed to go to COS. Diverting to DEN. High engine VIB.

Controller asks if not an emergency still, and she says nah. And then admits in the next breath they can’t do climbs due to a high engine vib.

I mean… if your plane can’t do climbs anymore, and you’re diverting due to engine VIB, it’s probably best to just declare. You literally stand nothing to lose. That’s why I was saying I didn’t understand the hesitance to declare. Say the E word. Or M word x3.

Oh, and learn how to read your own writing ;)

So there's probably going to be another aviation incident in the next few days that makes the news. They happen all the time, but the public is fearful right now so the news is reporting everything. When that next incident happens, take a breath and try to NOT 1) assign blame and 2) solve the issue. I'm telling you don't have the knowledge or the experience to do either of those, so stop. Or don't, whatever
Dude, it wasn't meant to be taken so seriously. Not trying to solve or assign blame. I simply wonder if the flight attendant tried to stop the egress onto the wing. Someone could have gotten hurt.

Or at least a PAN PAN. 😂

I’ll add even more.

They clearly realized a huge threat would be a go around. If you can’t climb power on both engines, climb rate is restricted. Realizing this, she does ask if they go around, please request straight out. And sure, ATC can say yes. But if push comes to shove, they are NOT an emergency aircraft. Which means, the controller could totally turn them elsewhere (maybe even towards higher terrain to the west initially) for some other traffic conflict. Declaring an emergency parts the sea for you. Now, you WILL get the straight out go around, and others will be routed around to make room for you.

As opposed to, in the go around, being turned where you don’t wanna go, and now declaring an emergency for the first time. Now on the fly, ATC has to coordinate you straight out while trying to turn the other guy away. Undoubtedly Stepping on each other on the radio in the time compressed situation.

Declare. Declare early. Once you got high vibs, decided you can’t climb anymore, and you are going back not to COS, but DEN, you’ve met all the right criteria to declare.

There was also another recent example, a Delta A330. They’re getting vectored around, can’t climb anymore for their problem, some flight control computer issues. They don’t declare as they are shooting holes in the sky.

Just declare. And those that make a big deal about souls and fuel, just put SOBs on your paper thingy on the yoke / clip after you get your final numbers while at the gate. And fuel you can always see.

Declare. Land. Once safe and have time later, a quick couple sentences in the ReportIt! app as a safety and irregularity report. Click ASAP too to cover all bases. Send. Done.

99% chance you won’t even hear anything back.

To the earlier question about where the FA's are, that woman 8th inset from the right, looks suspiciously like she is wearing FA garb. Or maybe the weird 80's/90's retro vibe going on is more potent than I thought

Probably asking them "why did all you dumb F***'s run out onto the wing of a burning plane??? This s***thead behind me even brought his backpack"

I think she's begging them to go back inside the plane.

I’m more bothered by the fact that she didn’t know her flight number. If I heard American ten thousand six one more time…..
It happens!

I had a ramp agent in YYZ one night ask me, "Why does every pilot write numbers on that little piece of paper on your wheel?" I replied, "That's our flight number and that's the only way we remember!"

And I STILL forget! When you spend months at a time being a 14XX out of MEM and suddenly you're a 15XX?! Holy •! Watch out! It's a tough thing at 3 am!
