AA (and Eagle) Uniforms

I have no idea how the company feels. The primary thing they care about is people showing up for work on time. That's pretty much how you get fired.
I don't know where youre based, but ive noticed a big difference in how pilots present themselves in PHL vs. CLT.

AA is bringing sexy back...

Says the guy who gives my company crap for wearing hats. Which one is it? Should I not wear a hat because I am a regional pilot? Or should I wear a hat because it is professional?

It's the hat with the summer uniform. With the blazer yes. Without it no.

Also, you probably get your hat custom made.

I've seen a picture they are not completely double breasted. They look line Lufthansa's jackets and grey.

Also all wholly owneds will wear them as well and hats optional.

So Delta will be Russian sub commanders
and American will be Luftwaffe captains.

I'm glad someone is bringing back a gray uniform. In the old days, there were lots of different uniforms, not just the generic blue or black. Leather jackets are disgusting, though. Ruins the whole thing.

I agree! Minus the leather jacket comment. ;)

And it begins. It was only a matter of time. Thread going 14 pages of leather jacket arguments in 3, 2, 1...

I would like leather jackets better if they would let me sew patches on them. Until then, I am against them.

I can do it tastefully. Limit it to 12 patches per jacket. Anything more than that is just ridiculous.

I heard there will be varying levels of Grey for different employee groups. Pilots uniforms will be the darkest Grey..almost a Charcoal. Does that sound accurate? It also appears that the uniforms will be identical (for the most part) for AA and the three wholly owned: Envoy, PSA, and Piedmont. It's safe to say that independent airlines like Republic and Expressjet will continue to have their own uniforms regardless if the plane they fly has AMERICAN EAGLE painted on the outside.

New uniforms are out on wings and jetnet.

Looks more like Virgin America than Delta.
No Ties for women.

F/A ones look really nice... on the models.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I think the pilot uniforms look particularly nice. That is a double breasted blazer, isn't it? Looks nice to me. The FA uniforms are much better than the current disaster.

I have to say that I'm not sure what is going on with the female pilot uniform. Looks a little too bizarre for my taste. It looks like a uniform you would see people wearing in a movie set in the distant future. Oh, and that leather jacket the female pilot is wearing at the bottom...is that supposed to be the new leather jacket??

Just noticed my feedback made it on to the page:

Make slim fit suits an option. These are more stylish and modern.”

Ha! For once the company listened to something I said! Unless somebody else said the same thing...but oh well. I feel like I made a contribution now ;)

Yeah I guess it's true about the jacket, looks just like Lufthansa. I'm happy they are giving us a leather jacket option. I think the leather jacket looks much better and more comfortable. It looks like a cross between a north face soft shell and those leather jackets sport bikers wear.

I'm glad they made the sleeves go below the elbow for the flight attendants, nothing is worse than see some of that upper arm fat flap in the wind.

Looks like the entire company's gossip about grey was wrong...... looks navy to me. Or midnight whatever according to wings.

Upper arm flapping in the wind is just rude. Ruins my day every time....here at Envoy we get the added benefit of arm flap and old lady FAs who drool out one side of their mouths.

Did you notice that it appears there is a new design to the pilot wings? But the badge on the hat seems to be the old school AA scissor Eagle.

I told you guys the leather jacket was nice :).

Look at the CS folks, everything is grey. Yuck.

The models were the same ones they used for the fitting reveal.

Chiseled and pretty. I wish they had some realistic shots...one pilot asked about buttoning the jacket, he had a 40"+ waist...

I'm not sold. I had to order a pant size 4" larger than normal because the legs are too thin. They are hipster style.

It's grey. Leather jacket is brown.

I was trying to remember that fancy word. It's a fancy word for dark grey...
