A third American Airlines regional carrier increases pilot pay

Lovely. You know, the majors should just admit that their own-devised regionals scam is over and done with! Just bring all that flying & staff back mainline and save everyone the trouble of having to play these musical salary chair games for goodness' sake

Are any "high paying" regional airlines based or have crew bases in Northern California?
I'm pretty sure SkyWest is the only one with domiciles on Northern CA...SFO and FAT. I'm not sure if they still have SLO...

No more SLO
:(

I had the honor of flying with the former Chief Pilot, SBP quite a few times once they closed the base, and he went to the 175.

I thought flying the 120 was the best job I'd had in professional aviation (although being a Captain on anything is certainly a close second), and judging from how fun the flying was with aforementioned former Chief Pilot SBP, the only way it could have gotten any better would have been being SLO-based.

Y'know I just JS'd with a 737 guy who came from the 120 (and I believe the 1900 before that? Maybe?) who flew outta ORD. Had a GREAT story involving AZO and said that plane was nothing but fun times; it seems like a shared sentiment across the board. Everyone who I knew loved it.

So basically the same as a second or third year captain, and then right back down to 36k until upgrade? Roughly based off numbers from airlinepilotcentral.

Still, a lot no thanks.

It's this stupid argument about flow. Sooner or later they'll learn it: doesn't work/isn't working/won't ever work.

Having done both, I'll tell you that it'll never get better than that.

Second year would be 37,800 on just guarantee, + 10k in bonuses for that year. It's also highly unlikely that you would be a 2nd year FO for very long unless you chose to be.

I think it's a great option for a new guy, but you gotta make the decision that best suits your personal circumstances.

You're forgetting the $10,000 /year retention bonuses after year 1, 5% profit sharing, and super quick upgrade Piedmont offers right now. The AAG WOs are all pretty attractive to new hires right now.

They are, very attractive. I was taking a cheap shot at PenAir for not having its headquarters listed as a domicile.

I love PenAir, and Saabs. And if was looking I'd apply to Envoy right now.

Or PenAir.
