A proposed sick-out?

Eagle gets an increased flow if they furlough. I think they get 50% of all American classes if one guy gets furloughed. @Gonzo?
Yes a furlough would cause an increase in flows. So far it looks like attrition and the inability to hire will keep that from happening.

Don't have to be gains? The last contract was cost neutral for the majority of pilots and it went down by 83%.
Even on first year pay I would have seen a hit to my QOL and pay. I highly doubt the JCBA was cost neutral for most pilots as they had way more to lose with medical and retirement reduction along with other stuff.

I should have said management could have done the same thing and gotten the same result without the concession. Give them the interviews and planes and they would be in the exact same position with their longevity. Some costs would still be higher due to insurance and retirement not being cut but that would be small in comparison.

I thought upgrade didn't matter to you eh?
Not so much but it would help to have some movement around. It also pisses me off to see the people that have now been screwed by the advice from above not getting anywhere and essentialy starting over several years into their career.

Aroo? Many posters on here have noted the benefits of strategic lateral move for quick upgrade.
That is a recent change in thought.

In your case didn't you already have TPIC time?
I do but it isn't 121 ( likely doesnt matter but who knows what the people flying desks think at AA and Delta) and it isn't a super ton of TPIC (1100). Also my avenue of getting TPIC (Cargo) came at the disadvantage of not being able to network as effectively.

You're correct it doesn't matter. TPIC is TPIC and you've checked that box plus now have 121 time. I'd say its a sound strategy to hang tight for now at XJT. Keep networking and showing up at every job fair and you should be on your way out soon.

So why not just give eagle an increased flow and reap the benefits of getting tons of high longevity guys off their respective seniority list rather than have them stick around for the sinking ship. PSA in comparison was so small that they barely have any topped out guys.
We have 350-400 lifers that are topped out and not going anywhere. Just those guys put Eagle at a $30,000,000-$40,000,000 per a year cost disadvantage compared to our competition.

I'm going to see one of the two "brothers" next week. Should I tell him to flow? :)

All kidding aside I'm sorry you guys are going through this.

A recent perusal of the aforementioned website yielded some amusing reading. The website administrator, clearly frustrated with the complete failure of the September 1st-5th "sickout", has placed the blame squarely on cowardly feeble pilot nerds who refused to "man up" and join in. Furthermore, the website has now announced a second sickout for the same days in November.

Having now myself been humbled and cowed by our frustrated friend's dress-down, I await the "Call to Action #2" with baited breath (and, admittedly, mild annoyance should I actually become sick).

It gets better than that... Pilot A has multiple sexual partners... Pilot B can only their sexual partners on one hand...

Apparently the new sick out lasts from Nov 1 to Sept 5 as well.

I personally hope this guy is just trying to get some seniority movement at his airline. Still sad but at least it sounds more logical.

Quite the selling pitch!

Pilot A – A strong minded alpha male who doesn’t take any •, who’s not afraid to speak his mind, has had multiple sexual partners in his life and has a backup plan.

Pilot B – A feeble minded coward who was probably picked on in high school. Pilot B is the dorky type who lives and breathes aviation and can tell you the number of rivets on any control surface. Pilot B has struggled all of his life with women and can count his sexual partners on one hand. This is the type of pilot who would do our job for FREE.

Hey!

The walkout was so successful, they're doing it again! Are you a "Type A" or "Type B" pilot? Man, they seem mad on the page update.

all on that site are "Pilot A – A strong minded alpha male who doesn’t take any , who’s not afraid to speak his mind, has had multiple sexual partners in his life and has a backup plan".......yet they are hiding behind anonymity..........

I know very few pilots who are Type B personalities.

It's sort of like a Captain saying he's standard (probably not) or "hella laid back" (almost certainly not) during our ICE briefing. "Yeah, sure!"
