A new way to get to work?

How is that any different than a helicopter?

A helicopter more than 10' above the ground and in theory you should have enough forward speed to convert to lift to soften the impact. It's called autorotation.

In this, the only option is the chute, which is non-viable at 20'.

Assuming there's enough speed and awareness to auto-rotate.... in his second scenario was blade failure, in which case they both crash, although the jetpack has the ballistic chute which at least makes recovery an option above the minimum deployment altitude, in which case it actually has more options than a helicopter.

A don't see why a lot of people are getting caught up in the name. "jet" pack. who cares.
I want one.
You never know just which rock will be overturned in aviation and how it can shape the future for everybody.

A helicopter may not autorotate from 10 or 20 feet up but at least it provides crash protection. This thing looks like you would just faceplant onto the ground and the whole several hundred pound contraption would land right on you, killing you every time. A 20' crash in a helicopter could hurt but will be survivable due to the safety cage, seatbelt, and crash absorbing seat (all of which this thing lacks). I mean look at that thing, even its creator won't dare a manned flight higher than 3 feet with a team of people holding onto it.

Also; I must point out that the Mythbusters decided to make their own "ducted-fan-single-occupant-aircraft" and after about a week of work they had a contraption that looked about as good as this thing. They pointed out all of the reasons it's just as much of a dead end design as the hydrogen peroxide jetpacks. Although, if I had a choice between 30 minutes of precarious hovering in this thing and 30 seconds of real Jeeeeetpack Action!!! I would take the hydrogen peroxide jetpack any time.
