One third (or more) of the EAS flying is a local pork-barrel boondoggle. But not all. Rational spacing between EAS airports, required reasonable PAX levels and right-sizing of aircraft fix the animal. (as always Alaska needs different rules).
There are far bigger Federal budget problems to fix!
