9E TA Reached

Come on.

They're self-financing. They're saving our bacon!

10 points if you can name the rep that said that.

Malone?

I remember reading that stuff.. I was flying the RJ at the time and wanted to walk up to him and show him the full backside of my pimp hand.

Let's see......Get downgraded and commute as a regional FO for substandard concessionary wages or be out of a job.........?

Talk about the dillemma of being raped or raped and murdered.

Look at the 8K filing. What I'm stating has been verified over and over again as DL's business plan. You can see DCI morphing into that plan every day.

I don't doubt it. What I'm referencing more is the attitude of "well, you guys really should have known this was coming." When there really isn't a damn thing any of us can really do about it.

I get it, outsourcing sucks. I agree. But as someone who used to be part of that outsourcing, you seem rather unsympathetic to the problems of others who are still stuck dealing with it. But we've talked about this before.

You guys got tricked. Promised a bunch of hiring, increase in mainline planes, increased wages.

While those things did happen, hiring will he less than expected, increase in mainline planes doesn't really result in more mainline jobs (which unless you're an a.netter is what we really care about), because of increases in productivity.

This situation still sucks for those of us are super stagnant. I'm glad you're at mainline, you did the work/networking to get there. But moving on also is a result of having a bit if timing on your side. Most of us haven't had that yet, so a bit of tact and understanding for those of us still munching on a crap sandwich would be appreciated.

I've said it, it sucks. I've warned all my close friends at 9E to run away as fast as they could. Many heeded my advice, thankfully. How much more sympathetic do you want me to be?

Hiring is coming, and in huge amounts... just not as quickly as I would have liked. I didn't bite on the "possible hiring this fall if you pass the TA" carrot. I thought that was pretty low, honestly. We are going to be increasing mainline hulls, and I've flown way less this year but made more.

It will be less than expected? You know this how? What was expected? Productivity increases are minimal. The FTDT LOA still has to be negotiated. 75 more airplanes from our current count will mean a significant amount more jobs at mainline... no matter how much you want to poo-poo that, that is a fact.

You'll have your chance. The economy and Age 65 has completely screwed the industry with complete stagnation the past few years.

Somewhere out there--probably right now--Roger Cohen and his "1%" er friends are laughing like this. :bang:

You don't have to worry about that dillemma, all signs point to you being raped and then murdered.

Only way for Roger Cohen and his 1% RAA friends and board members at PNCL to feel any of this...is for this to get voted down and to give the employees a legit opportunity to find other meaningful employment.

A separate agreement was reached among Memphis-based Pinnacle Airlines, Pinnacle pilots and Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL) that includes long-term career opportunities and the addition of 40 CRJ-900s to the Pinnacle fleet, Pinnacle said in a statement released by the company.

Is this some sort of flow through attached?

I've heard "Hiring is coming" for years. Forgive me if I remain skeptical. Still lots Delta could do to change that around. More JVs, maybe cycling out some of the older MD-88s/MD-90s in exchange for 717s, moving some the international stuff onto currently flown domestic routes. If it's going to hurt the bottom line, management will figure a way around it. A few months ago it was "Delta will HAVE to hire in 2013." Then they said no hiring. Now it's "Delta will HAVE to hire in 2014." Kinda hard not to buy into it if the line keeps getting moved....

No one wants them to hire and grow more than I.

No one.

But for me to run around the Internet with ZOMGZ it's gonna be HUGE!!! When they say nothing until 2014 and we've shrunk since the merger and are going Crazy for JV'S like a freshman cheerleader after Johnny Football Hero, I'd be an idiot not to suspect they don't plan on ameliorating any impending shortage via KLM-AF/VA and Alaska.

Really. The day they announce hiring or even a single firm wide body order*, I'm at the front of the beer funnel line.

* trivia - seniority growth comes from net growth of wide bodies. A single "upgrade" to a new wide body jet has shown 8-12 "downstream" upgrades. Narrow bodies, not so much.

Off topic, why are you guys extending T4? Couple of your guys who jumpseat on us say your international flights have decreased somewhat significantly out of JFK. I thought it T4 was international or maybe there might be some other reason.

Not directed at me, nor am I in the know. But I thought it was because I've seen cleaner and better equipped subway stations (with less pigeons).

Well, they're tearing down 3 because its a customer service disaster.

T3 and T2 are horrible. Rumor was when I left that the horseshoe was going to close down and regional flights were going to move over to T4 as well while they "re-build." IMO, I don't think anyone really knows the plan past the new T4.

If I don't personally see T3 implode, I will be very disappointed. That is a very sad excuse for an airline terminal...said having flown out of there many times.

What happens to all the international airlines in T4 now?

I know a couple of them (Aer Lingus and I think one other) are moving over to T5 when the international extension over there gets finished. Might move some over to T1. Guessing any one that's in an alliance with Delta is gonna stay in T4.

There is going to be a significant amount of hiring with adding 75 airplanes plus retirements picking up steam.... just not as soon as I would like. The airplanes aren't coming until later next year, though.

I think we were sold a bill of goods on the whole promise of quick hiring with the TA. However, what makes you think they can take care of any shortage via AF/KL/AZ/AS? We are already slightly below the limits on our production balance in the transatlantic JV, not above.... they can't give anymore flying to them and are now in danger of penalties for being so far below. Flight ops and route management are working with them to correct us back to the upside.

I too would like to see more widebodies, but at least the mainline hull count is going to be growing again. That will help me more than you, though. I think there may be some more domestic widebody shrinkage with that lift being replaced by the 739s.. Our fleet distribution is looking more and more like NW every day.
