9E TA Reached

While Gulfstream did have the PFJ program, it wasn't their sole source of pilots. They also did hire pilots in the same way any other regional airline hired pilots. I only mention this in fairness because the PFJ program is what gets all the attention, while the normal hiring of qualified guys they did is often overlooked.

I want a pilot fresh from the fight of getting the job.

Not just someone who sat on his butt and got it because he was next in line.

Interesting that a lot of people have argued the same basis for "merit-based" upgrades. I didn't see your defense of that.

Elitism among pilot ranks is one of the major causes of the destruction of our profession.

Then they shouldn't be flying your passengers on a CRJ, either.

Umm, ok.

You know honey buns, if it was my call there wouldn't be any subsidiaries.

Get hired at Delta in a Q-400 and progress to the 777.

Yes I believe that if you bought a ticket on Delta, you should be on a Delta jet flown by Delta pilots and flight attendants.

Did you think I would say anything different?

No, I know that's how you feel, and it's how I feel as well. The problem is getting there. And getting there may require you to suck it up and accept some form of "one list" that allows people on your list that you might not have liked. The refusal for pilots to accept this fact is why we've missed opportunities to end outsourcing time and again for two decades.

Scope.

But scope is evil and Ford and Lawson, supported by a lot of short-sighted people, none of which have the cajones to speak up now, need to recognize their role IMHO.

Peanuckle, the interview process for Gulfstream pilots was no different than the interview process for any other Pinnacle pilot. Get over yourself.

Pretty sure 9E minimums were a pulse.

Gulfstreams was X amount of $$

Which equals having almost no interview.

Both seem to be on the same level BUT the issue comes down to buying your job. 9E wins..... Barely.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Dude 9Es interview is a damn conversation that lasts like 15 minutes, no sim. Every other regional practically makes you do a sim. The interview doesn't weed out a whole lot but it is still an interview and the job has to be earned ( just not many hurdles).

Gulfstream.. Well $$$ talks.

Its not rocket surgery to see that...

I did the Pinnacle interview. I know what it entailed. And your characterization is completely false. It was mostly a technical interview (probably about 30 minutes), with some HR included as well (about 15 minutes). A written test was also included that was about 50 questions and mostly about multi-engine and instrument flying. In other words, a normal interview, and actually more involved than my mainline interview.

Which was pretty much breathing in a mirror and checking that it fogs over. Been there, done that.
Doesn't change my stance on who was hired and how a number of them shouldn't be flying passengers around.

Heck, AirTran hired a few of the crazies. Then again, it's the same lady.

Not a top tier level interview.

I thought ASA's interview was pretty good. Two day event. Tabular speed test, knowledge test, essay test, one on one technical interview, HR interview. That's all day one. If you get through that, throw you in the sim, fly it without flight director and autopilot.

My only concern is while the interview has a good foundation, I kind of feel like there are adjustable standards depending on how badly we need people.

That's why I stated that ASA has raised their interview to a higher level. I like the way they are going- but you are right that they can change the score minimums.
