883TT CFI/CFII/MEI Looking for something

I would take anything that SeattlePilot has to say with a grain of salt. He is the same guy that wanted to throw his fellow pilots under the bus for his gain. I think he acts like a tool online and I hear he acts the same in person. I will say it to your face just like I told your friend Zach B.
Gonzo , be a bit more specific about throwing my fellow pilots under the bus..

Sorry i forgot. Cfiing sucks, regionals suck, and life sucks. My bad

I know you're being sarcastic, but the way that some of these regional pilots hate their life makes me want to stay as far away from the airlines as possible. Sometimes I wonder whether they do it on purpose just so that they can scare off low-time pilots from ever joining the ranks.... If they hate their jobs so much, then why the heck are they still flying for crapshoot regional?

The list is quite long. I can start with the petition you started. I might not be a RAH pilot but I have read you pilot forums and seen your post. Also every RAH I talk to knows you and doesn't think a whole lot of you as a pilot or a person.

Gonzo,
You have no idea about the petition. You also have never met me in person, so that doesnt even give you an idea about who i am.

Anyone thst has a problem with me.can tell.it to my face: as i do the same about the others. I am happy to report that never had problems except couple of people.

I talked to zach today. We have been friends and coworkers for so long. He thinks so highly of you :)

Nice contribution dude... Some of you regional pilots have serious negative attitudes.. Really.. Lame...

Thanks. That may have come off a little harsh if you read into it, but I promise there wasn't suposed to be any anger in that.

The negative attitude contagious. It's a trap and its easy to fall into.. I'm sure I've been there myself at times.

Gonzo, just curious what your background was without CFI'ing? I'm at that point right now. Debating on whether or not to just suck it up and get at least the CFI and double I, or go for a picto type gig.

I flew for Grand Canyon Airlines and AGC before that. Both are good places to get some experience and make some contacts. The 207's are gone now, so its probably right seat in a Twin Otter. I did two seasons there and it will improve your skills.

Once you hit 123.1 multi time the doors will open up for you. Just kidding. Wish I could be more helpful. All the CA's I fly with say flying freight puts hair on your chest. Maybe you could try that. I just CFI'd up to 1200 hrs and I have plenty of hair on my chest. Go figure.

Except there was nothing negative about it. One person can read it one way, I can say it another. To each their own.

Interesting...

Suck it up, get your ATP mins, get your ATP, and go to the airlines. Stop being a whining pilot, like every other CFI. A lot have done it, you're no different (sorry to group you as everyone else, but truth hurts). I did what you're doing for just a tick under 1700hrs and was a check airman and had Assistant Chief Instructor duties. I know you can do it. I know it isn't fun, but you have to start somewhere. Do a lateral move (I know you said no, but I'm saying yes) to a different flight instructor job. Open your own flight school or something. Just get the time, and move on. You're 600hrs away from ATP TT mins, and 40hrs away from your ATP night mins...

Nothing negative, perhaps. Poor attitude? Yes. Not every CFI is a "whining pilot." If your not having a little fun you're doing this wrong.

It's not fun? Well, it probably is for awhile, but some people actually can make things happen with far less experience than you'd think... And a lot of it has to do with attitude. I didn't really care for CFIing. But I don't recall whining about it, instead I used that energy to do something similar to what the OP is trying to do; ask for help, do some networking and find something better. I was quite successful in finding something I enjoyed (with far less experience than he currently has). There is nothing wrong with trying to find a better opportunity for yourself. Lots of guys on here have done very well without the CFI; Autothrust Blue, DPApilot, z987k, are a few who come to mind who have done VERY well, by networking and knocking down doors to find a better job. "Sucking it up" would have been a lazy option and I doubt they'd be where they are now had they just sat back and waited for something to happen for them.

Also, this is quite contradictory. It would not be an easy feat. I would highly recommend NOT doing this unless you're trying to make it a career, or at least you're in it for the long run. It would be bad for you, and worse for your students.

Opening your own flight school takes a significant amount of work/experience/time to really get it right. That is unless you don't care about the quality, which if you're just there to "get the time" the quality of your operation would be quite poor.

I assure you Autothrust Blue and myself are terrible dangerous pilots because we don't have CFIs. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I even have photographic evidence. Put us both in the same airplane and holy crap... there's bound to be... lunch. :D

I'm shocked you guys could even get the thing off the ground!

I don't have my CFI either, so I'm definitely dangerous. Although I do have CFI privileges in the LTA-Airship category and class.

They don't even consider me a "pilot". The only reason I was hired is because my face scares the birds away!

You're completely mixing one sentence with another in some areas, but I'm not going to explain myself. Like I said before, you can read it one way, and I can say it another. You took this a little too in depth. I'm not a negative nancy, and have far from a poor attitude.
