787 jumpseat

C5 Galaxy FTW. Went around the world 4x occupying the #4 crew station in that plane. Nothing has topped it, yet. Well... The KC-10 and 135 boom pods. What a place to knock out for 9 hours.

True.

The 737 feels like a 1900 to me but it's been 15 years.

It's like taking a guy living in a 200sq NY apartment and putting him in any thing else. Trust me it's big. :)

Compared to a Lear, sure...but proportionally, it's not what most people expect. I've hit my head on more than a few occasions getting in and out of my seat!

I wish they'd take out the P-6 panel.

Pointless for the most part.

Just wasted space! :)

We could fit a kegerator back there!

I approve of this!

Actually that reminds me...First leg of IOE on the 757, I not only tripped getting into the cockpit the first time, I hit my head on the way out during the flight, then forgot the door procedures to get back in. Pretty dang smoooooth. :)

I bang my head all the time, it's hilarious and I'm a whopping 5'8.

Yeah. Unfortunately I'm quite familiar. My first 3 months at xjt were spent commuting LAX-EWR. Tons of fun. But it beat sitting in Sewark another minute.

A kegerator would've been sweeeeeet for that commute.

Is there a place to plug in headsets when you ride a j/s?

There is, but except for some strange dudes who probably fly Flight Sim in their basement when they get home nobody wants to be listening to MORE radio chatter when they are just trying to catch a ride. The exception to this may be the turbo props and planes with turbo prop windshields (I'm looking at YOU Mr. ERJ) where you have to wear something just to cut down on the noise.

I tend to listen in when in the terminal area...not always, but if there's a headset right there, I do. If there isn't, I usually don't bother. :)

I listen in most of the time when I'm on the JS...the "JS briefing" that's posted on DL planes says I need to watch for traffic, thus I should probably listen in, while in the terminal area so I know what's being called for us.
