Wait, I thought jumpseaters on international flights always had to have a seat in back? How did you get up front?
No, in a 737.In a widebody jumpseat? Sign me up! The ERJ cockpit is REALLY small and REALLY loud. Like having to wear David Clark's loud.
OH SNAP!
That's BRUTAL!
It's like taking a guy living in a 200sq NY apartment and putting him in any thing else. Trust me it's big.Honestly, it's not all that big up front!

I wish they'd take out the P-6 panel.
Pointless for the most part.

Yeah. Unfortunately I'm quite familiar. My first 3 months at xjt were spent commuting LAX-EWR. Tons of fun. But it beat sitting in Sewark another minute.Compared to a Lear, sure...but proportionally, it's not what most people expect. I've hit my head on more than a few occasions getting in and out of my seat!
Is there a place to plug in headsets when you ride a j/s?
At least you don't have to ride the jump seat for that...In a widebody jumpseat? Sign me up! The ERJ cockpit is REALLY small and REALLY loud. Like having to wear David Clark's loud.
Is there a place to plug in headsets when you ride a j/s?
There is, but except for some strange dudes who probably fly Flight Sim in their basement when they get home nobody wants to be listening to MORE radio chatter when they are just trying to catch a ride. The exception to this may be the turbo props and planes with turbo prop windshields (I'm looking at YOU Mr. ERJ) where you have to wear something just to cut down on the noise.
I tend to listen in when in the terminal area...not always, but if there's a headset right there, I do. If there isn't, I usually don't bother.![]()
