787 Cockpit

Touch-screen CDUs? I know touch screens are pretty robust now, but I just get a bad vibe about it. Most people stab touchscreens as if trying to awaken a drunken roommate...

Maybe because having worked a job as a server, I was constantly battling one. Who knows. I'm probably just being too conservative about changes...like how I'm still somewhat anti-G1000. I mean, the thing's great, but in the planes I'd be flying if the display goes, you're left with what, instrument-wise? AH, AI and DG? No thanks.
[Sitting at desk trying to kill time rant over...]

I think some international airlines allow their pilots to smoke :cough, cough Aeroflot:
I dont know though. It sure looks like it.

Aeroflot?
I'm pretty sure they're allowed to hit the bottle, too...
(Kidding, naturally)

...and I just realized the thread tag of "chemtrails."
Awesome.

I prefer tactile buttons as I've developed wizard ability to 'touch type' on the FMS with my left hand. Too many wind entries I guess.

It looks neat but I hope the surface is smudge proof. Our touch-screen ACARS heads are like a truck stop toilet commode.

Some dude got a Molly Ringworm from sending an in-range once.

Pilots with have to be equipped with the latest technology in bacterial wipes and sanitizer.
Ohhh, new invention. A sanitizing wipe dispenser for the cockpit. :D

I'm fairly sure they are not (<candy-ass rule>) touch-screens, but are manipulated via the cursor control device (CCD; the things that look like touchpads on either side of the throttles, and maybe the rotary wheel forward of them).

iDrive. ;)
