I thought I was the only one that felt bothered by the noise.Had a 737 pilot riding in the JS today, complaining about the noise on our plane. Never been up front on a 73 to compare though and I didn't even think twice about it, I just figured, welp yeah it's an embraer it isn't the most sophisticated thing out there. Commuters, is the 737 louder than the 145? I'm just used to it, rocking the bose but I don't turn them on bc imo the white noise is terrible.
Rule number 1: No matter how quiet a noise is someone is bothered by it.I thought I was the only one that felt bothered by the noise.
Only LEAPx on the MAX. Sole provider.
And the winglets on the max are not the same scimitar retrofit currently on the NGs... totally different. One is made by APB, the other is inhouse Boeing.
The 737 probably isn't that loud in the grand scheme of things, but it does seem stupid loud for a jet though!Had a 737 pilot riding in the JS today, complaining about the noise on our plane. Only to the untrained eye! (*In my Ace Ventura voice)Well. . . they look the same!
It's hard to find a cockpit that's louder than the 135/140/145. The 737 is up there, but I don't think it beats those Embraers. Now the 175/190 is much quieter.Had a 737 pilot riding in the JS today, complaining about the noise on our plane. Yeah I've commuted on the 175 before, never the 73, I'm so acclimated to the 145 I don't know betterIt's hard to find a cockpit that's louder than the 135/140/145. The 737 is up there, but I don't think it beats those Embraers. Now the 175/190 is much quieter.

Honestly not really.Well. . . they look the same!
IT'S STATE OF THE ART!That overhead.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
And I'll bet you it's still loud as death up front.
Come on, Boeing. Innovate.
I still personally find it loud enough to wear my headset most of the time on the 175, but you're also talking to a guy that wears hearing protection on BART, so yeah. It's hard to find a cockpit that's louder than the 135/140/145. I can't call you a city boy at all! This little gem is sitting at the Maintenance hangar in LAX, or least it was last night.
Damn thing is louder than the airplane. I don't mind the propulsion noise itself, but the track noise is positively awful in certain parts of the system, especially on a few places I travel to/from work on - the Montgomery interlocking, all places with a curve south of Daly City, and over the Contra Costa County crossover. You wear hearing protection on BART?!I can't call you a city boy at all!
