30 King Air Pilots Needed, Immediately

If you don't have an extreme financial problem (bankruptcy) or criminal history a Secret is a very low cost threshold for the company to absorb pretty much knowing you will get the clearance.

TS is the big dollar one. Secret barely even requires investigation, it's mostly an NICS background check and a credit check paired with making sure you are a citizen or naturalized alien.
Trump has bankruptcied at least twice

Trump has bankruptcied at least twice

The bankruptcy flag is to show the ability to be financially exploitable to a foreign government or agent. Massive debt makes people do stupid things like sell state secrets. Nobody would argue trump is hurting for money.

And Clinton lied under oath and was disbarred for it. Still got briefings every day at the highest level.

I think you'll find security clearances for elected officials differ greatly from the requirements us normal people have to go through.

Yeah...screw that so much.

Having worked in personnel recovery and having friends in the JPRCC that idea that you will somehow be written off is crap.

You are safer flying in war zones like Afghanistan than you ever would be working for a civilian company in South America or some other crooked African "republic." At least in the war zone we have an infrastructure of spooky people and spooky equipment whose sole job is to find people being kept in basements and filthy holes and bring them home.

For someone who has already been in the military and been on deployments that last a lot longer than 60 days at a time , this sounds like a cake walk. Too bad I don't have the total time or King Air experience to apply. A lot of former guys in my military field have been doing the sensor operator piece which doesn't pay as well. I might do one of those to put some cash in the bank to pay for some King Air time to come back and do this!

I'll leave my standard OCONUS spiel here:

Things you need to be careful of
Things you will hate

Yes, but you are significantly more vulnerable doing this. You don't have an ejection seat, and whenever something is important enough to require persistent ISR, you can bet that you aren't the only airborne asset in the AO, so there is a huge chance for midairs as well. Rescue is cool, but AFG has some unforgiving terrain and it may take a lot to get out to where Murphy sets you down at. By that time, you could be dead. It absolutely is a huge risk, and is not for everybody. One must seriously consider the risk vs pay before they set out to do this.

While true the same could be said for any austere environment flying (Alaska, off shore rigs, the North Sea etc).

Im more pointing out the absurdity of the US government and all its agencies and partners treating contract assets as completely expendable. We have moved heaven and earth to send tier 1 dudes like Delta after KBR truck drivers. Same as we have diverted MUEs and launched Marines off boats into Africa and other crappy places to rescue all sorts of missionaries and other non mil US persons in hostile places. I'd put my money on Uncle Sam long before I'd put it on some petroleum company or other corporate entity making he decision to put reputation and the idea of not leaving people behind over dollars.

If resources are available most of the time you're correct Lawman, the Calvary will come. That said it is made abundantly clear should certain conditions be met you are a low priority.

Benghazi proved that.

For those of you interested in MAG... Could be a good deal already have a type rating and TS/SCI, or have the savings to get the type pro-bono.

I've been doing this for over 2 years now and from my experience, it's a not a good job in many ways. It has been explained already in detail, good and the bad. BTW, Delta and United no longer fly to Dubai. This job is easy, not for everyone and the money, though it looks a lot...you are taxed quite a bit (granted, I am retired military and spouse works so I'm over $200K a year so I am taxed high). One can somewhat alter what they bring home but many are surprised how much they don't bring home. I'm not going to complain on the net but L3 has many, many issues, from awful leadership to just bad operational practices. If anyone wants an in at L3, PM me, send resume and I can send to the Chief pilot, we need pilots. I am of course leaving the company soon but before I go, I will be happy to help.

Bunk!

I'll vouch for Bunks willingness to help. He and a few others helped me out in various parts of the process.

I had been engaging the company independently with some, but slow, progress in trying to get hired on. I wasn't too concerned because of a different Job I was pursuing, and the ISR gig was the backup but the primary job fell through and the overseas ISR gig went to the front burner.

Once my resume was sent to the chief pilots office via the bubba network and they decided they wanted me I got a phone call within 24hrs discussing class dates and location and them giving me the specific job posting to apply to. The written CJO came within a week or so.

If you're considering any of the companies, apply to them all, and don't pass up any opportunities to get your resume looked at and passed along to someone who could make a difference in the hiring process.

What are the chances (if any) in these overseas jobs for someone with no US passport but deployment experience (including NATO ISAF Afg)? Currently flying in US, PC12 Part 135, 500h+ in the aircraft, CFI, CFI-I.

Are you a US citizen but don't have a US passport, or not a US citizen?
