30 King Air Pilots Needed, Immediately

BTW, Delta and United no longer fly to Dubai. This job is easy, not for everyone and the money, though it looks a lot...you are taxed quite a bit (granted, I am retired military and spouse works so I'm over $200K a year so I am taxed high).

So what airline rewards would one sign up for then?

And isn't there a deal if you stay outside the US for more than 6 months your income is tax free?

First 80k or so. It's actually a monthly income limit not an annual limit on your taxes so earning a butt load in short order doesn't really help you.

Emirates, Air Canada, Lufthansa.

And the tax free exemption Form 2555 can be located on the IRS website. In a nutshell there are two conditions which make you eligible - bona fide resident status or 330 days outside the US. It exempts the first $100,800 of income. I've never heard of this "monthly income limit" exemption and have been doing this a while now.

US Government contract vice foreign company.

Remember where this thread started.

I don't know, United and Delta don't fly there but they still do intermediate stops, like Frankfurt.

I think the form is a 2555 for tax purposes...

Again, if you think you qualify or even come close, let me look at your resume. The company is hurting on pilots...doesn't mean you're in but that can be a consideration. Unfortunately, in the last year or two, at least two guys were caught lying on their resumes, performance demonstrated less that what they claimed. That is partially on the company I suppose, not checking their background.

Wouldn't that make the US Secret Clearance part a bit difficult for you?

Not necessarily. We have a dual citizen in my Squadron. He has both US and German passports. Another guy I know is a dual Russian/US citizen with family still in Russia. Still holds a secret clearance with no issue and his is a TS. It'll make a TS take longer but that is the point of the investigation.

The existence of a foreign passport wouldn't be, but it's usage would. Assuming A US passport existed as well, of course.

Yes....

I was assuming from his previous posts of "doesn't have US passport", then "Has European one" that we wasn't a dual national. Could be wrong of course......

We have in the military had foreign attached officers granted interim security clearances otherwise they wouldn't be able to perform the job they are filling in a joint billet. Not saying it's exactly the same as getting one in a civilian company but being a US citizen isn't necessarily the make or break for a clearance.

This sounds like the military tax exclusion zone rule and not the civilian 330 day rule.

In the military, the monthly pay up to the amount of the senior enlisted member is tax exempt.

Try MAG-DS directly. They're hard up on pilots right now having acquired 2 new contracts. The issue is that they're going to have difficulty getting folks through training and getting a secret clearance if they don't already have it in time for the ball dropping mid-April.

You'd be a shoe in if you are currently typed in the 350 and have a clearance. PM me if you need additional info

So I'm back and moving on to another job but MAG-D is working hard to get pilots, took some from L-3, offered $1000 a day for 45 days. L-3 is now paying $800 a day, my pay went up to $800.46 a day actually.

So before I leave the company, I will still turn in resumes...the company needs pilots bad but remember, must have ATP mins and a clearance helps. If you have less than that and/or helo hours, it won't happen.

It's short term, MAG doesn't have the funds to continue at that rate. It's just a stop gap measure. Essentially they won some contracts but don't have the staffing in place. Theywont be able to train and type new hires plus get security clearances in time so hey have to draw from other companies. Most companies out here are ballpark $800/day.

So by saying "...and a clearance helps...", I gota tell you I've gotten nothing but the big N,O, all the times, etc. are there. What's up with that security clearance thing anyway?

That sucks but there are a few pilots at L3 who didn't have one and got it. My guess is timing and needs...it is good timing and the company needs pilots. I can't guarantee it but I certainly believe it's possible.
