2022 Christmas meltdown Competition enteries

SOUTHWEST COMING FROM BEHIND FOR THE CHIKAN DINNER!!

Southwest cancels more than 2,800 flights in a 'full-blown meltdown'

Southwest canceled more than 2,800 flights by 6:55 p.m. ET Monday — more than half of its schedule for the day, according to flight tracker FlightAware. The disruptions add to chaos that has left people stranded at airports across the country, many of them with little idea of when they can get home or where their bags are.

The number of canceled flights for Southwest is more than 10 times higher than for Delta, which had the second-most cancelations by a U.S. airline with 265 flights called off. Other airlines have also ordered large-scale cancellations in the past week.”

so when does SWA get back to some semblance or normal….? Son is scheduled home on leave on 12/30…. hope its all running ‘normally’ by then….

I keep calling their number to ask, but all I get is either a busy signal or message that the call could not be completed.

Leave is cancelled.

Did the SWA system shutdown ops-wise, for a system reboot, of sorts?

i wonder. to see nothing available for Friday id strange. unless of course they are blocking everything until everyone gets rebooked.

I would avoid SWA for at least the rest of the week. They are cancelling about 2/3s of the flights through Thursday to catch back up. It is an absolute dumpster fire right now. They have already been cancelling stuff of my trip starting Wednesday.

APA is warning their members to avoid commuting on WN this week.
