I was flying near SPS today when a 172 gave a mayday call on guard with a failed engine. Was anybody else around the area for that? The pilot ended up putting it down in a field without injuries. Nice work 67T, wherever you are tonight!
On a related note, I am quickly becoming annoyed with guard nazis. After the original mayday call and the ensuing information exchanges, they kept stepping on people and causing lots of distractions.
Seriously people, it's just a radio frequency. Let it go.
"Yeeerr on guaaaard!!!" - Random pilot
"Yes, I know, we just had a mayday call and we're trying to relay information. Be quiet." - Delta retort
