15 more Q's for Colgan. For real this time.

CAL wants some 700's or 900's... again - we got em

We are in a strong position in the industry right now, I hope we can keep it civil, work together and not get things messed up with labor issues

CAL hopefully will not want them. Sorry. Look for growth somewhere else.

Amen, brother. I'm more afraid of guys going ape over here and starting to bash Colgan guys over something that's management's doing. You're right, we're well positioned to take advantage of any kind of RFP. The question is....will there be anything to take advantage OF?

Congratulations to Pinnacle/Colgan. I'm glad to hear some good news for someone in this environment, even if it might...errr probably will, adversely affect my coworkers and I down the line. I'm just sorry my airline's management is too inpept to see the value of turboprops.

This is indeed good news in a time of seemingly relentless bad news!

I also want to point out that many of us (myself included) are ASSUMING that these airplanes will be operated out of IAH. However, nowhere in ANY announcement did they actually say where these ships are going. At this point any speculation about the markets we will serve is just that.

And just to keep the rumor mill going... These 15 aircrafft have absolutely nothing to do with the 15 options COLGAN has purchased (the CO options are completely seperate). So we still have 15 airplanes for 2011 (I believe) that are still open for any flying.

...now PCL decides to finance Q400s with loans rather than deal with the mess they've already got.

Well I dont blame the company (oops i mean the "corp") for going after that contract. No airline is gonna turn down extra flying, especially in this environment. No matter what mess they might already be dealing with.

No offense to the Colgan pilots. Just wanted to say that us on the 9E side are starting to feel like second class citizens since management seems hell bent on growing Colgan while shrinking us.

Come on now, dont act like the company every treated us with any respect even prior to the colgan purchase.

That may be... but 430+ million is a tough chunk for an airline to come up with these days - and I'm hearing this is being done completly on the colgan side... note and all is in the 9l name.

Really? Only reason why colgan got the initial Qs was because Pinnacle came in and secured financing with revenue earned by Pinnacle Airlines and its relationship with NW. Colgan was sold because they weren't able to come up with the money themselves.

Also, According to my yahoo news alerts the last year or two, it showed Colgan losing money, while Pinnacle AIRLINES was making money. So all the money in Pinnacle Corp used to secure the financing came from Pinnacle Airlines. To think Colgan and Pinnacle CORP were the only ones responsible for getting the new flying without any help from Pinnacle AIRLINES is wrong.

One would hope, with elemination of the beech, and much of the money loosing saabs, that the positive cash flow from the Q's will help offset anything on the 9E side and keep things steady - PNCL as a whole right now is well suited to meet nearly any demand, wether it's low cost short runs, faster jet service, or sudden expansion - we should be able to handle it. I guess having 1 list would mean that PNCL could sell any of the services to any of our 4? code shares. DAL want's a Q? got it... CAL wants some 700's or 900's... again - we got em

As far as I know 9E isnt losing money, so there isnt anything to Offset with the Qs. PNCL does fly 50-90 seat CRJs and 19-72 seat T-Props, but dont get too excited about uncle phil taking over the regional airline industry just yet.

I agree. even tho I do sound like a negative nancy in this post. ha I welcome Colgan pilots to the SUCK. haha.

Everyone PLEASE relax. Let us not get into a tit for tat dicussion. The Colgan Pilots understand the frustration of the Pinnacle pilots.

We have to work together for both of our pilot groups to prosper.

Mark, you have disappointed me. ;) It is Tit for Tat.... Off all people... :D

Just remember when you all start working on your first contract that is when they will hold those 15 over your head.

Colgan pilots, congrats on the Q400's, I want Pinnacle Corp. to be prosperous and make money as should we all. I also want both of us to be one going forward and I hope that happens soon.

BINGO!

That's the leverage angle right there.

"Uh.. you guys want a raise? Oh no- we can't do that AND buy new airplanes. In fact we think you need a pay cut to pay for the new planes."

Don't be fooled. Stand the line.

Fly the contract. No mercy, no regret, no remorse.

And PCL management LOVES that line. So far, in the relatively short time I've been here I've heard "If we give you that, we'll go bankrupt" right before they bought Colgan, Q400s and CRJ-900s, "We're gonna lose the NWA flying if you don't sign this" right before they signed a new 10 year ASA with NWA and "No other airline will touch us unless you sign this" weeks before they inked the deal with Delta.

Basically this thread proves why the regionals are no place to spend a career...I long for the day when I'm no longer involved in the game of "musical airplanes."

Good for Colgan. I'm sorry for XJT. Even more sorry for CAL where it all belongs in the first place.

Are these saab replacments or will this be a net growth for Colgan?

Probaably replacements for existing Q's.

There's been a strange infestation of Wookie hair in a number of the Q's.

Pooh! If you think "bad cat" smells bad, y'oughta catch the vapors of a Wookie.

Oh heavens to murgatroid!

When I let those words slip out of my mouth about five years ago, people were chasing me around with butter knives! :)

"Yeah, uhh, ACA's got a 401K program, but do you really want to bank on them being around until you're 60 (at the time)?"

Blasphemy! :)

One day I am going to show up at Jetcareers WHQ with me standing there in my boxers and a buzzer demanding you buzz the back.

Laugh now Taylor...

And now we've got rampers and commisary people saying "Didja hear? We're gettin' mo' -900s!" Uh, do you mean COLGAN is getting more Q400s? "Nah. Newspaper said Pinnacle." Pinnacle Holdings or Pinnacle Inc? "Whas' Pinnacle Holdings?"
