"Never tell me the odds!"
I've decided to move on from my current gig. Wondering if anyone knows of an opportunity for someone in the Portland Seattle (PNW) area.

SEL/SES/Rotor/working on MEL
IFR for both
Rotor CFI/CFII.
1100 hours total
410 Turbine
I meet all but total time for 135 IFR PIC
Do not want to go 121.

You looking for a FW or RW job? Being short of 135 mins with little to no AMEL time may limit you a little bit for now. Maybe tell us a little more about what your goals are.

You could always try to get on with Hillsboro Aero Academy as a RW CFI and work into their charter dept. Believe they have a couple of A-Stars and a King Air 90. Seattle may have more opportunities though. With your seaplane rating, you could probably work your way into Kenmore Air part time while instructing RW somewhere else. I hear it's a pretty good gig. Buddy of mine got picked up part time there in the Van. They just wanted him to commit to 6 days/month. Can't remember what the pay was, but it was decent.

We're hiring I think. But you have to leave the seaport koolaid and some of the apparent ego behind.

I don't think that will be a problem. Not much koolaid left. And suddenly its turned into something brown......

Just got an offer with Grant to start ground school Feb 22nd. So I might be good but who are you flying with?

Any idea where you're gonna be based? Bethel I am guessing?

No clue. Had my interview with the CP a little over 2 hours ago. They offered me the job on the spot. Still gotta pass ground school and check ride. But yeah Bethel is on the list of potential places.

Love some insight into the company. Things to watch out for. I've heard good and bad. Know about the crash 2 weeks ago. And that there have been some bounced paychecks in the past. Anything else I should know about? They are slotting me for the GA8 as I already have some time in it with CAP.

Lots of Seapot people going to Penair but I am just not the 121 type.

Glad to know we are picking up some Seaport people.

I honestly don't know much about them. I haven't heard of checks bouncing recently. From what I have heard they have some good money backing them now.

If you're in the Air van then you may also end up in King Salmon.

Grant has been going out of business for 20 years. Hooper Bay sounds like another flat light.

Have fun on the ScareVan! Don't skip leg day!

J5/X4. Your former company's former competition in Alaska.

I don't always put a wing on a box, but when I do it goes 120KIAS.

Nah, shes a good airplane for what it is. Always fun on those windy days.
Not sure if the fun part is supposed to be facetious but I've found the Garavan to actually be the easiest plane I've ever flown to get nice smooth wheelie crosswind landings. Something about that huge spring steel gear with 29x11s and the ability to drop it into beta as soon as you get the upwind wheel down to help you stick makes it really nice when the wind starts kicking.

We have the same set up with the wheels, had a captain ask me if we touched down once when I reach for the flaps to go up. I tried reeaaaaaal hard not to have a stupid smug look on my face.

I would have to agree, even better than having a Johnson bar. Also landing flat seems to work better than a big nose high flare.

You guy get wind up there?
