    FAA passes another records act

Very altruistic POV. I worked at one of those places. I stayed 6 months. I had people on this board telling me to go work there. Stelios was a f***head of a boss. When his wife showed me some handwritten notes she had on how I was to be paid, and I showed her what flights I worked and she...

    FAA passes another records act

You miss the point....completely. Disciplinary actions unrelated to flying are between the previous employer and employee. Edit: Most states have laws against that kind of information. "Is the employee eligible for rehire" is all they're allowed to ask.

    FAA passes another records act

And that's exactly what I'm talking about. Disciplinary actions. There's a whole lot of shady 134.5 operators out there that will be vindictive. The rest of it is necessary. It doesn't/shouldn't apply to me. I'm at a place where I'm most likely done with interviews, and I keep my nose...

    FAA passes another records act

Yeah, not cool how deep this one goes. I can see some disgruntled operators putting things in records that are damaging. I get it, records need to be improved. But honestly, some of the things required to report are what I would consider "none of your business" or open for really screwing...

    Mid-air over Denver....

Like a boss! "Do you require any assistance?" "Nah, I'ma just taxi this beeich over here and turn it off.". Amazing no one was killed. You think he still pulled the prop through on the engine that didn't quit?

    Kobe Crash

It's not the place it used to be. Still not a bad place to live, but the juice ain't worth the squeeze anymore. I'd be outta here if I could take my kids with me.

    Kobe Crash

When you're transiting through mountain passes they are. This part of SoCal is chock full of hills, valleys and passes. That's exactly what got Kobe's helicopter. They tried to get through the pass at Calabasas, and didn't. Santa Susana Pass tops out at just shy of 3000msl. It was covered...

    Kobe Crash

These helicopter companies just don't get it. I live about 6 miles from where Kobe's helicopter crashed. One of the charter helicopters just flew over my house, about 500ft above, scud running through the valley. It's foggy and overcast right now with the marine layer. They just don't get...

    Paying your dues???

$12/hr. That's a hard no for me. The only way it becomes viable is if you're independently wealthy, or it's your second job.

    Interesting new airliner concept

I mean.... it's better than that idea where the cabin detaches in an emergency and parachutes down...but just.

Remember what it was like being an FO. You ain't special just because you made it to the left seat, you just got hired first. Know when to let it swing and when to let it ride.

DOT Sec Buttigieg: Domestic Testing Being Seriously Considered

This is why I always make sure the APU is up and running before shutting down #2. When I was in the right seat I had this exact scenario happen on the north bridge going to the west side while making the turn, mid turn. The captain managed to keep it on the pavement by stomping the left brake...

    Baggage cart 1, Skywest 0

I mostly just lurk in the shadows now. I haven't posted in years. But I'll second this. Go talk to anyone who was former ASA/XJT (I was) about how they feel about anything SkyWest. ASA went from making $540m, to losing money very quickly when "Chip-away-Chip" took the reigns.

The Great Jumpseat War of 2019

What union? SAPA isn't a Union, and they don't have a contract. They have a working agreement. Management could walk in tomorrow and tear up their "contract", flip everyone off, and start from scratch. All a SKW pilot could do about it is quit.

I don't have a source. It comes across a feed. I don't watch the news, and don't subscribe to any particular source. And your comment about "then be smarter about your sources" is exactly why you can now go fishing for info on your own. Pretty sad it's come to that if you ask me.
