This is a 200 hours-before-PPL student a CFI friend of mine has couple. He will be all right on check ride. He might fail on first try but would pass easily on second.
Phht old story. Anybody can land on a frozen lake. How about a river? In Canada? That's where I went yesterday. Mo's Fly In 1 mile west of YOW VOR.
Their chili was good.
What can I tell you brat. As your friend, I came to this country too old, too poor and too late. With nearly the same equivalent of an aviation degree. Spent a number of years before Uncle Sam officially accepted me to the family. I made several attempts to "convert" my degree with zero results...
My guess it's on approach end of a runway. Mexico? Back in Soviet Russia decades ago there was a military airfield with monster checkers painted on the sloping terrain.
North of 39 parallel and west of W-107C a rare sandbar appeared in Atlantic ocean. Couldn't miss the chance to walk it. It's not your regular beach and it will be gone in two hours :D
It's vandalized pretty bad. At least four places with swastika graffiti, broken beer bottles and furniture on the runway. There was a nice resort years ago I hiked for about an hour around it not a single soul spotted.
Birchwood field in the Poconos. I might bring an axe and a broom next time.
They are scheduled for tomorrow http://airandspace.si.edu/events/detail.cfm?id=13564
I am planning to fly my experimental into deep freeze and take a metro to the Museum.
Very nice thanks for sharing. Kentmorr actually has a great grass runway. Wide enough and long. Speaking of clearance to MD3 it is a PITA. Took me almost 3 months to receive secret pin. Now I don't want to go there :)
