Hey All,

I've been away from the US for a good 3 years (living/working in Australia now), and I'm heading back to your glorious land for a vacation December/January, specifically, New York.

While I am there, I would love to go for a flight around the city, check out the views from the air etc etc. I know there are companies that do these kinds of tours all day every day, but I don't want to be treated as a PAX, loaded in the back and forbidden to touch anything. I want more of a first hand experience at flying around the area.

My FAA license is obviously not current anymore (Aus one is current though) and being that I'm really only looking to do A flight I don't want to spend time and money on doing a flight review (not to mention being horribly out of date with the FARs).

So my question is, does anyone know or work for a company/school near to the city (or easy enough to reach without spending my entire salary on a cab fare) that would be willing to help us out with this kind of flight? Or perhaps you have your own aircraft and wouldn't mind taking me and my Mom for a spin around the city? I just want to do something a bit more genuine than being shoved in the back with a bunch of other tourists.

Shoot me PM when you get there. I have a two seater not far from the City. Can pick you up at Linden KLDJ and we go anywhere you want. The catch is weekends only.

That sounds awesome @Fencer , will do. The catch on my end though is I'm travelling with my Mom, who also wants to go up, got a cargo compartment we can squeeze her into?

Hey mate, not sure how much internet access I'll have when I get there, but: we arrive in NY on the 27th, and we are definitely there until the 2nd, in the US to the 8th but the plans are less solid. I don't know if you're still going to be around, but we would still definitely like to go for a flight if the offer still stands.

Heck yes I am around and the offer still stands. How mobile are you guys when here? If public transportation only it's good too...
