PUBNAT3

Sounds like a bunch of mindless pessimism to me. That would mean the November panels were being held for seemingly no one. Besides, if we truly did need to wait for class dates to be assigned before we get geo. prefs., then why did PUBNAT2 receive theirs already? Sorry, DOES NOT COMPUTE.

There may be some major scheduling issues, but I still know we'll be done our PEPCs by the new year.

Where in the hell did you get that the PUBNAT2 applicants already have class dates? How can someone have a class date without even going through an interview?

AND>>>>What makes you so damn sure that there will be ANY activity in November? Did you hear this from the FAA? If so...I would strongly recommend talking to some veteran controllers and how the FAA really works!!!

LOL, obviously. :p

It's just annoying that he's coming down on us for having a few posts where people are excited because we have our geo prefs/referrals/panels in less than two months. :whatever: That's a lot of good stuff happening fairly quickly. :D Even if it's a long wait, are we not allowed to be excited that things are moving along?

You think I am "Coming Down" on you and the rest of the PUBNAT3 applicants....

You better start growing some thicker skin little girl if you think what I said was mean....

Whoaa what a temper :p

PUBNAT2 people have geo pref emails, even though all the PUBNAT1 people don't have class dates yet... I think that was the point :)

[modhat]It certainly isn't conducive to a friendly, informative environment, is it?[/modhat]

Yes. The FAA has said that the next panels will meet on the first or second week of November.

Please calm down. We started this thread to have friendly conversation about PUBNAT3.

You must have more faith in the FAA than ANYONE on here!

So far everything that the FAA has told me about PUBNAT3 has been correct. They have given me no reason to doubt them about the application process at this time.

Regardless, panels in November would be in the correct time-frame. PUBNAT2 panels end in late September, PUBNAT3 panels start in early November. Panels a little over a month apart for announcements that were about a month apart sounds reasonable. Especially considering that the FAA originally intended to combine the two announcements, before RVA sent the scores in late.

I'm pretty excited to think that we'll be the first panels of the new fiscal year.

I mean, PUBNAT2 started three or so threads all about just their referral lists. Which were obviously going to come out anyway since panels were about to meet. I think we're being plenty patient here, just anticipating the next step a little bit.

Got a little fire in her!! I like it:D. Must be a red head?

Haha that's what they say. Thank you!

Must be a red head?

Brunette, naturally...which I've gone back to. I do go red often though. It's funny, my hair hasn't been my natural color since high school. Now that I have that back I've realized it's actually a really nice brown with some lighter shades. But I'm already getting bored with it (it's been half a year or so).

I've been blonde, red, purple, black...lol. I get bored and then I change my hair on whims. :D

Maybe I'll do a poll before I start at OKC and you can all vote on what color I should make my hair. LOL :laff:

Well at least whoever the lucky guy is, he can't say he gets bored with the same old same old:laff:.

No boyfriend anymore because I just moved 450 miles. But let's just say I've gotten the laughing-while-shaking-head reaction a few times. :D I can't decide if it's worth dating now, if I might be heading to Oklahoma in a few months.

Now I want to do something with my hair again, lol.

The last time I changed my hair it was because I was so sick of every girl having the same long flat-ironed hair everywhere I looked (that's what I had too). So I cut it into a bob and everyone raved about it. Next thing you know every girl changes her hair to that Victoria Beckham hairdo...that drove me nuts! I try to stand out with something different and then everyone changes.

I am trying to decide if I should grow it back out now that everyone has it short. But my hair looks better chin length. Decisions, decisions.

Maybe you should go back and read about the phone call that Honu had, which is the basis of the conversation right now. Based upon your past few posts, I don't think you've really grasped what we're talking about.

You certainly haven't come in with the right attitude... lighten up, man.

I had heard I should see, "You were not selected..."-yadda-yadda for future announcements I applied to, precisely because of that.

Sounds to me like someone was making that up. I haven't seen anything of the sort either, but I don't think that ASAP would tell you that you weren't selected to re-take the AT-SAT... just doesn't make sense. It'd be like telling you that you weren't re-selected to submit new geographic preferences when you've done a PEPC and are waiting for an academy date.

Chalk it up to typical JetCareers speculation. In any case, it's sort of a moot point -- you already cleaned up with your AT-SAT score, so you're good to go. Um, on a related note, I'm going to send you my geo preferences and will pay you ten bucks to not put any of them down on yours. You hundred percenters are gonna take all the spots from us hard-working 90-somethings.

Go figure. Thank you for both of your input. I thought it sounded a bit iffy, but like I said, was just making certain. The FAA isn't always the most intuitive.

I'm starting to wonder how many people here on JC received positions at facilities with low numbers of trainees. The facility I want to go to has 6 trainees, and is 79% staffed, with 5 controllers ready for retirement. Those are some horrid odds, wouldn't you say? The other facility in consideration has 14 trainees, 9 eligible for retirement, and is 86% staffed. In other words, I'm heartbroken, and Hell will probably need to freeze over in order for me to be to invited to a PEPC.

Hey all - my first post here, although I've been reading for quite some time now (and thank you all for all the great info so far).

I, like I assume (most) everyone in this thread, am waiting on the GEO-Prefs e-mail. Although it isn't a huge step in the process ... it's a step. My question (and I hope this is the right thread):

Does anyone know if it is possible to choose "nationwide" on the geo-prefs as a second option? Specifically I would like to have 1st choice MA, 2nd choice nationwide. The bottom line is I am willing to go ANYWHERE to make this work out.

Thanks!
Joe
