Announcement Ending 05/02

OK, so after all this waiting, i finally got my Geo Pref email. I didn't contact HR or anyone, I have a yahoo acct, and it came in my inbox (which i had heard they were going into spam). Prior military, well-qualified, and chose either for enroute or terminal---also, chose Indiana & Florida. Good luck to all, it will come!

Just chiming in. Got my Geo Pref email this afternoon. I had emailed them this morning, not sure if it's related.

Never had I have a problem with Gmail...until reading this thread...and then when I go to check my email...

I get this:

We’re sorry, but your Gmail account is currently experiencing errors. You won’t be able to use your account while these errors last, but don’t worry, your account data and messages are safe. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue.

JUST GREAT...

So, MrBucket, what did you decide for your preferences?

.....I think I'm going to put RI as 1 and MA as 2. Even though I've had plenty to of time to think about it, I'm still not entirely decided.
Similar to you what you thought, I think PVD would be very good place to start. I know, I'm all over the place with this stuff...

Also, I need to figure out how I'm going to word the things I want to put in the comments, such as being unable to accept a position at ACK, or possibly request a smaller facility. This comes from me trying to heed the advice that I've gotten many times over.

I would love to work at BOS, but the fact is, going there will greatly increase my chances of failing. I don't want that to happen.
I guess it's time to figure my S out.

I'm leaning towards Terminal? Does anyone have any positive comments on why EnRoute would be a better option? And for the email, should i select BOTH, or select the type I am more interested in?

I have a parent that is an enroute controller at a very busy center..and was terminal for a number of years.... from what I hear, enroute is the way to go for pay...:buck:

But....pay isn't everything....

If you've been on here for a while....

There have been several posts by veteran controllers, (one in particular--CJ--) ARTCC's are the best way to go in terms of training.

YOU need to select the option that YOU want, not under the thoughts of others...

Yup, you better be ready to sit in a dark room for at least 6-7 hours a day staring at a screen before choosing a center and be pretty sure that's all you want to do for the remainder of your ATC career. But I'm sure you already know that.

But there are some very good paying terminal jobs as well, but most of them are probably not well suited for someone with zero experience.

I was gonna put both but I don't think there are any ARTCC'S close enough to New Orleans.

My assumption was that was the point of the 3 year training at your facility...so that you go from zero experience to learning the ropes.
