**Big News For February Applicants**

Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum since I applied but I never posted because my questions were answered on here a few times over and I assumed nothing would come of this FAA career. I also noticed I had one of the lowest scores on the ATSAT so kind of ruled the job out.

I did recieve an e-mail yesterday inviting me to the PEPC for my second choice, West Virginia. Just wanted to let those with only a "qualified" score know there is still hope! I barely passed and got a 72 so I really didn't think I'd get this far.

I do not have a college degree but I have been in the Air Force for nearly 10 years, maybe that helped. But I was really shocked to get on the referral list and now the PEPC invite.

I see already three here picked for Terminal in WV.

Seems like they need coverage for WV.

I selected ID and CO (term/enroute) on my geo prefs, and not 20 minutes ago I got this:

>>Congratulations. You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Anchorage ARTCC in Anchorage, AK. <<

At first I was like "what the heck" but then i remember when I originally applied in ASAP, I filled in the state prefs at the beginning of the application, and one of them was AK. I guess they are taking your ASAP preferences seriously?

This is just out of control. . .
 
went through the whole LA PEPC process yesterday and got a OKC start date of Aug 6th. I was the first one in and the first one out!

One of my good friends at A80 was in AK before coming here. Loved it. Especially if you like the outdoors IE hunting, fishing, etc.

I got the same deal, I selected CO, and IL but got Iowa. Maybe because I live here now or I did include it on my original 10 choices back in Feb

My first choice was anywhere in Ohio. I did see a few others with the WV e-mails too though. A buddy told me they did really need people there so I put that as my second choice. Haven't seen anyone put anything for OH yet.

I'm not sure. I'm curious if anyone knows whether we can get multiple emails/offers??

AK is beautiful but moving there may just be too much-- i.e. cost of living is very high, and it's like a bazillion hour drive from here. Somehow I have to get my wife a house, and a big dog, as soon as possible.... I dont know if I can do that very quickly with the prices there.

Also i couldnt find the locality pay for AK, i have a list of locality percentages but Anchorage says 0% for some reason and i know that's not true. . .

I guess I really wanna know if I can expect more emails before I start making "plans"

Can you get mutiple offers from various states?
Also, if you reject your offer, are you not considered for other areas?

I know in this world, beggars cannot be choosers. However, some folks need to explore all options out there, if any.

Hey ATL TRACON, in response to your post about my situation, when I first got hired they had the policy that you take what ever they give you and if you don't want it your done, career over. I got stuck going to an ARTCC which I hate in a place I never wanted to go. I ended up resigning because of family issues/problems and I have been waiting ever since to get back on. I guess the only thing I have going for me is the age 31 rule does not apply to me I believe anymore because I was hired prior to 31 unless they can find some excuse to not allow me to get rehired. Other friends that went to same facility as mine resigned as well and two of them were rehired recently but they are ex military and I am not.:panic:

i just spoke with someone and they said that the goal is to get all the emails out by 5pm central time. she said that if we dont hear by 5cst then we were not selected. i hope shes wrong, but she said she was positive.

Hey Sooner did your twin get selected? Hopefully I'll see you in Memphis too. Passed on NYC (never been there) and that place would eat this country boy alive.
 
yay! i got selected for CA too!! Are NYC, Chicago, and Memphis really going to be the only PEPC locations as well?

I was hoping LA would be an option. Anyways congrats to us all! :nana2::nana2::nana2::nana2:

Also do you guys think a local interview and non-PEPC option would be a wise choice? The locations are quite far away =[
