What insulates CHQ/Republic From Cuts?

I hear ya. I've been put on notice as well on another forum (61) because what I say, whether I mean it to or not, has a union position attached to it. Fun stuff.

I'm still working on not working on the 28th.

I dunno. I've seen a terrific turn around on JC in the last month or two. The mods have done a bang-up job fixing some of the recurrent problems. Some people have left in a huff to the benefit of the site.

Really, compare this place to a month ago and you'll see it has gotten a lot better.

You didn't quote anyone Ian, but just to be clear I didn't say JC was better or worse than another discussion location or has improved or degraded in quality over a week, month, or even a year ago.

No the accurate information would be that RAH nor anyone is immune. Thus the thread topic. I also put out there that UAL (which is one of your major providers) does indeed still have scope and thus I did not forsee it being an automatic RAH gift for more flying. Thus they annoucned the express carriers would increase in flying however the fact of the matter is they are paying the fuel cost and if given the option to save money perhaps SKW flying a 700 would get that flying due to the 700 indeed being cheaper then the "heavier" EMB170/175. In addition placed before was the fact that until the "express" was taken off after the name none of the flying done by any, and let me stress it again ANY, regional is safe. In addition I stated RAH is a solid place now, but todays great place can be tomorrows worse. I would stress to re read my post. Not all of it was bad. Heck most of it was not bad at all about RAH. Mostly giving props about how things are going great. Lastly I did caution that BB did indeed leave Mesaba is a bad situation and that I would not trust ANY ceo as far as I could throw them. Would anyone here let to say BB did not leave Mesaba in a bad spot?

Lastly there has been in the industry in general this mesuring contest. None of the regionals are better then anyone by a huge amount that we should be saying, "my place is better." However I would say I have two great friends who have been hired at RAH lately and they themselves would admit there's a lot of this "macho FO" thing going on at RAH lately. However it could be a low time issue in which is happening at every airline. Keep in mind as you forgotten I did have offers from both RAH/PSA and took PSA. Therefore I am around RAH a lot. THus perhaps other places are this way as well. But when you only have 500 pilots for the most part my company is a small small place and very modest (senior) folks. Thus perhaps other places are having a "macho" act as well. However I do not see the SKW/Xjet/ASA/Comair guys. However those who I've encourtered from those companies have been great. And also those from RAH are great for the most part. Yet I am around the younger crowd thus I see it more in that crowd. And when even over in CMH with my buddies there's an extreme cockiness I've noticed. Its merely all I was stating. The older guys at RAH would have never been that way. But that again as I stress could be a changing of guard and thus a changing of time.

I agree. No one is immune. We are offering unpaid leaves for the month of July to certain bases and positions.

Secondly I agree that it makes sense that United would like a more efficient plane however we are the only company with 17 spare planes lying around. I don't know where they would get the extra 700s if thats what they want.

If you knew me outside of my postings you would know that I am the farthest thing from a "Macho FO" and even a Chautauqua cheerleader. I realize I come across that way on here.

Yesterday I had been drinking and went overboard on my posts but all I am saying is don't judge a whole pilot group from the few buddys and acquaintances you have at RAH.

Other than that I do agree with everything you are saying.

I know.

Was responding in general, but mostly addressing Ethan's and Educ8-tor's thoughts.

I agree it's gotten better over the past month. However, I would posit that that may be in fact due to the turn around in the industry. When everybody is growing and happy people tend to brag (too much) about how great where they are is and how every place else can't be nearly as good. Now that stuff is slowing down (and as this thread and some of the XJet stuff over the past weeks shows) people are arguing about how much every place else is at risk and how great and stable where they are at is. (Wow... ending a sentence with a preposition. Nice.)

Yes, some of the heavy duty stuff that was getting argued over (cough Unionism cough) has died off a bit with some of the prime cheerleaders either realizing they didn't have a clue as to what they were talking about or leaving the site, but over all I think the rhetoric is tied very closely with the growth of the industry.

Thats a pretty deep look into the changing moods of Jetcareers. It makes sense though :)

I need to stop getting drunk and posting on here. Only sober postings for me from now on...

Borrrring!

I'm not really sure where Zap has been doing that. But even if he was, he's allowed to as a private citizen. BB is the head of a multi million dollar, publicly traded corporation and uses CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS to make religious statements.

I understand that zap has a right to is opinion. But garbage? Come on? That is insulting......

I dunno, personally I find it a whole lot more insulting when somebody tells me I'm going to hell because I haven't found Jesus.

Speaking of which, I heard a really funny joke yesterday.

So Jesus and Satan are arguing over who is a more skillful computer user and God finally gets tired of hearing it and says, "ok, we are going to have a two hour compitition and who ever does better is the winner." Jesus and Satan agree to it and sit down at their computers and for the next hour and 55 minutes they email and browse and type documents and build spreadsheets, they code, they watch DVDs and listen to MP3s. And at the hour and 55 minute mark, there is a big storm and there is lightning flying all over the place and of course, the power goes out. Satan starts cursing at his computer screen while Jesus goes and gets something to eat while he is waiting. Well, finally the power comes back on and Satan is getting more and more frantic trying to find the stuff he had done, that of course was lost when the power went out. Meanwhile Jesus starts printing out everything he has done over the past two hours. "That's not fair," screams Satan "he's cheating... how does he still have his work and I don't have mine?" And God just laughs and says "Jesus saves..."

Agreed.... nah flew out of IND today... Some great guys on the plane and sat back and talked a lot... Honestly its just a few however the few I know I'm around a lot. Thus my lower 50% not needed I'd agree. In addition I'd agree that most pilots out there are great in general! We all have them and thus when your group is a lot larger then most a few can sour things easier then a few at a smaller airline. THUS me saying the lower 50% are macho idiots and what not (however it was worded) was not needed (Tim you were right).

And that has NOTHING to do with my sabbatical of exactly 1 month from this place!!!

Oh snap, I just posted on JC! I'm outta here! :panic:

Mature again.... Way to bring it back down... SoCalApproach and I both had I thought come to a close on this. Anyways really why not keep it professional instead of the name calling? I again greatly appreciate the name calling and the great act of support with your professional input. Regardless of what you may think of me and vice versa keep in mind you are indeed a professional in this industry. Period.

Mods closure maybe?

Oh, why do you guys think most of the folks that have been around the site a while always say, "Save the Swan Song!" We know you'll be back even though you're not posting. You don't even have to log in and I know when the "I'm going away" crowd have been peeking around.

Webmaster sees all. Moohooha!
