Delta cuts SkyWest flying

As much as I hate to say this, Burger King's quality has really gone down hill recently.

Must mean the economy is starting to get better, which I doubt! ;)

I remember in the 1980's when we were at rock bottom, I could go to BK, say, "Whopper with cheese, heavy pickles, heavy tomatoes, no onions, hold the mayo, add mustard" and it'd come out perfect.

Now, if I did that, they'd look at me like I was an •.

"But what happened to "have it YOUR way"? :) "

Ever since they changed the name of the Chicken Whopper to the Grilled Something, I've been a little upset.

Now, they're running these stunts about doing away with the Whopper then saying "just kidding!".

I think they're testing the waters on really getting rid of that flame broiled goodness.
I know! The chicken whopper just had mayo and now it has some sort of fandangled sauce on it...definitely not the same. The burgers aren't as good anymore either. I used to love their cheese burgers but they taste bland now just like McD's. I prefer Carls over BK anyday of the week. Now if I could convince K.C. Enterprises to build a Carls in KY!

chicken whopper? whiskey tango fox, over?

how about a 7oz bacon wrapped Omaha steak? medium rare with a loaded baked potatoe with as much bacon as sour cream?

i'm sorry, we were talking about delta weren't we?

them cutting back the flying, is it a hint of things to come or just getting rid of unprofitable routes?

Dude how in the world do you guys stay in shape eating this stuff? Is it just me, or does no one else put on ten pounds just by looking at fast food? LOL

You got any Hardee's or Roy Rogers around? It's the same place, they just use different names for different areas with slight menu changes.
I think there's a Hardees around here somewhere. They offers ome of the same items but Carl's is by far better. I remember Hardees before KC bought them. They were better before the buyout.

Lot's of Hardess in your area, mister "here's my home phone, call me and I'll actually answer!"

My wife misses you and wants to talk!

:D

You best watch yo self...girlfriend!:p I've got my mother and brother in-law at my house so my phones are scattered around the house. Nona can barely walk, so getting the phone to her is like climbing Mt. Everest!

BK has got nothing on Jack in the Box. It's no contest. Their Sourdough Jack and Sirloin Burgers beat ANY major fast food chain for quality, taste, and value. Hands down. Not to mention their milk shakes. I wish Red Robin would serve Jack in the Box burgers n' shakes and cut their prices in half. Oh wait... I don't think they have Jack in the Box in the mid-west or east. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Back on topic..... I think if you search the site for "raise fares" or a similar string, you'll find a plethora of posts in which the authors claim fare increases as the best solution for improving pilot pay and working conditions.

Ahem.... what these posters (and arm-chair economists) perhaps failed to realize (or at least mention) is that as price increases, the number of buyers presumably decreases. Assuming this is true (how can we really know any theory of economics to be the truth?), then the amount of flying available to be done is bound to decrease.

Quite possibly, this is the tip of the iceberg. Imagine this: In an effort to make money as fuel prices increase, airline managers choose to reduce capacity both in response to decreased demand (as a result of higher prices and other factors, such as reduced economic activity) and to increase load factors. I can certainly imagine a world in which airlines target 100% load factors for these reasons. Will everybody desiring a seat be able to get one? Of course not! Seats will then be distributed in accordance to the "laws" of supply and demand. As prices are bid upward, only those willing to "pay the price" will travel by air. And why not? Recent media has proclaimed "The End of Cheap Oil" and "The End of Cheap Food." Why shouldn't a luxury such as air travel share this plight?

After riding on the shoulders of cheap oil for a century, the American way of life (and aviation, to be sure) are in for some interesting times.

Lol, hey, I called, and even left a message to inquire if the kid made it out yet! So, no more bitching!

Now, back to the topic at hand!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we (USA) are on the brink of financial Armeggedon, and there's nothing we can do to change or fix it. Life as we once knew it has come to an end. The End of the Era of Spend. Housing market is at its worst since the Great Depression. This recession is predicted to be WORSE than the Great Depression by some financial analysts. CNN money news gets depressing more and more each day. Just hold on keep tight, we've got quite a wave coming to hit us.

Oh, and im willing to place bets with anyone that oil will hit at least $120 a barrel by the end of this year...

I'd stay put if I were you. Heading to an on demand supplemental 121 freight carrier is probably a bad move these days.

It was probably the kick-ass 80's hair. :)

Dude- I literally said that word for word two days ago to a buddy. Our prediction is if it does hit that level, look for EVERY carrier out there to be furloughing.

Southwest(hedges running out soon, I like they're 70% hedged for $50 per barrel for 08')
Delta
United
Continental
northwest
jetblue
Virgin America(may cease operations)
Air Tran

At 120 per barrel, NO ONE is immune.

with the exception of FEDEX and UPS!!!!!!!!!!! They will hurt, but not to the extent to furlough.

This is exactly why I have a backup plan. This might be like the fall of the Roman Empire. The powerful USA flat on its back. When all hell breaks loose Im abandoning ship. China, India, or Africa here I come.
