Here's what I got today from 9L. Scheduled Reserve from 5a-5p

12:30am - Phone call from Crew Scheduling. Have to report at 5:45 for a DH flight to BOS, picking up an ISP turn, and a RKD-AUG turn, then DH back to base. (Which btw, I didn't intend to answer the phone, but being asleep and hearing the phone, thought maybe the wife was calling about something important. Oops)

5:45am - Show up. :hiya:

6:30am - DH flight to BOS :hiya:

7:30am - Arrive in BOS, can't find assigned aircraft. :panic: :panic: Contact ops, aircraft not in BOS, still in BHB. O.K. Call CS, not sure whats going on, stand by to stand by.

8:30am - CS calls, aircraft can't leave BHB due to a crew time issue and its then I guess its realized that I should have been on the BOS-BHB flight to get to the aircraft!! :panic: Standy by to Stand by.

9:00am - CS calls, take BOS shuttle to LGA (Airways), then DH LGA-ALB at 12:45

10:00am - DH on Shuttle to LGA.
11:00am - Arrive in LGA only to see my next DH to ALB is Cancelled!! :panic:
The same aircraft is scheduled for 8:30pm departure to ALB, but since the aircraft is broke, I'm not counting on it!
11:30am - Get listed as DH on 2:55pm departure to ALB
2:00pm - ALB flight DELAYED untill 4:30pm :banghead:
3:00pm - ALB flight DELAYED until 5:30 :banghead:, call to find out what the deal is, aircraft has been broken at departure airport for one day. Still not fixed, but it will be!!!! :cwm27:
4:00pm - ALB flight DELAYED again! :banghead:
4:00:02pm - Had enough!!! Another Captain trying to get to ALB calls CS, gets a rental car. Whhoooopieee!!! :insane:

4:30pm - Hit the road in NYC for ALB!! :rawk:
7:30pm - Arrive in ALB!! :rawk: :rawk:
7:45pm - Arrive at Crashpad, check todays credit. 3.75 pay, 14 duty, ZERO Block Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention disrupted sleep!!! :rawk:  :rotfl: :buck:

Awe, thanks guys!!! :hiya:

Goodluck to those with upcoming interviews here!! Ahahahahahahaha!!! :rotfl:

:tmyk:

:laff: :D

But....didn't Pinnacle Holdings just crow about their crew utlization and how good it was? :)

True story....we had a reserve CA with TEN DHs scheduled in one pairing. 3 of them in one day. DH from outstation, to hub, to outstation, to another outstation. Overnight.

Simply the Best!

When is your last day, Airdale? If it's not today, it should be.....don't think you could top the quality of that schedule......

Jan 18th!!!! :rawk:

I gotta tell you though, I thought about - maybe for a few minutes - just walking off the job. BUT, then the better sense got a hold of me and I rationalized that while the day was the fault of poor planning by scheduling, it wasn't their fault flights cancelled. ALTHOUGH, all of the flights I was supposed to take back to ALB, were Colgan flights!!! :rotfl:

In all seriousness though, Colgan was a stepping stone to a better place, and while I am sick and tired of days like this (and believe me I've had much WORSE then this), I am still going to be a professional, work my remaining pairings without giving them grief and literally take my ball and go home. Even though I'm basically working for free since their holding my last paycheck.

Seriously, goodluck to those interviewing!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I've read the term colganoscopy before and I've seen little examples of it but this one might take the cake. It's in the top 100 that I've read, anyway.

Isnt the 12:30 am call an interuption of rest if you are contacted my the company? Serious question.

I'd be like I'll report at 8:30, after 8 hours of rest.

C r e w u t i l i z a t i o n?? What the hell is that???

Oh yeah I see now. I was utilized, with my pants around my ankles and bent over a cold, hard aluminum table!! :laff: Thats not a Colganoscopy, its a colganscrewitupyerbuttusingadewaltdrillwithnolubeoscopy.

I can laugh now...because soon it will all end! :D

Have i said this before?

I'm glad i left.

my last day i had a 15hr 30min day for 2 hours of flying from LGA to MHT to LGA.

i miss the beech.

This right'chere is how Colgan Air utilizes assets. It's called...

.. Colganomics.

Yeah... was there a flight to BHB? Seems like maybe they should have been on the ACTUAL LOCATION OF THE AIRCRAFT.

Either way if the brain of the operation fails to verify all details prior to enacting a plan, everything that happens as a result is a failure on their part. ie, the cancellations to get you home weren't their fault.. but the fact that you wound up at that time and place IS their fault.

I think you're being pretty charitable. Granted, I was, too.. but hey. I guess it just proves we're still good enough to take the high road even if they won't.

...or the CPG! :sarcasm: ha!

Seriously though, our safety department handles this kinda stuff pretty well. It's better to report it then to let it go. Help everyone else out and take a stand. Yea we don't have a union...okay.. so what now? Deal with it and do whatever you can to protect yourself and our pilots.

Depends on the contract. With PCL, they can call you in the middle of the night to let you know of a schedule change, and it's not considered "interrupting rest." Why? B/c according to our contract, there IS no way to interrupt rest. You're either in rest or on duty. There's no in-between. Guys get calls all the time at 5:30 am at the hotel to notify them of a "schedule change." According to the contract, the "preferred" method is a note under the door, but thanks to the soft language of the word "preferred," it never gets done.

Airdale,

I seriously hope you had some adult beverages when you got home. It probably wouldn't have been so bad had you been able to fly but to get yanked around all day for basically nothing, man that sucks.
