Quasimoto Pilots

"Nice having that pointed out to you isn't it? Of course this post could all be in vain since you still haven't stated where you work."

Everybody pretty much knows Velo is a Capt at Alaska. It ain't no secret.

What I wanna know fins, is how many Alaska pilot ride on Jetblue? You should ask your jumpseat coordinater about that.

I don't have to worry about spikey hair 'coz I'm pretty folically challenged. The thing that bothers me about the hat, for us hair loss types, is the darn thing really makes my head sweat. What's more unprofessional, no hat or a waterfall of sweat pouring out from under the hat? I wear it until it gets too uncomfy then off it goes.

Of course at my company we can have full beards if we want to and on some guys it looks pretty decent. I have a goatee myself as do several of my compadres. It makes for some interesting looks from other pilots when I go cruising by. They can't quite figure out why I have a nifty pilot uni and facial hair.

Where do you work!? I'm applying tomorrow!

I was a micron from closing this thread, since it has resumed some course of civil discussion with the hair discussion, I'll let it go for now.

For goodness sake stop the bickering.

Precisely.

Besides, it's a lot easier to plead your case if someone reports you as unprofessional, if you at least show up looking like a professional.

If you get written up for something and then you show up out of uniform policy looking like a skateboarder, toast baby.

:yeahthat:

How simple is that to figure out?

Dunno, ask JetBlue

(they are (were?) allowed to have goatee's, so the O2 mask obviously works. It has more to do with the image the company wants presented than the O2 mask in my opinion.)
On the fire department, they tried to tell those male firefighters that wanted to grow their hair long that it was a safety hazard, when the gals had long hair. So some of the guys who wanted to grow their hair out told the chiefs to enforce these safety regulations on the women . . .that didn't last long, and the men were soon growing their hair.:bandit:
There was, however, job security in that profession.

The answers you seek can be found in my handy profile :D As for the O2 mask, it works just fine and dandy.

You missed the point here. Velo has no problem with trashing other folks' companies but has always been too chicken to say where he works. It's about having the guts to put your own credentials on the line yourself and not just rely on others to pass the word.

I have no idea how many Alaska folks ride on us and I don't care. However we'll gladly give them seats if they are available. I do see a lot of Delta and American folks though.

and this colgan guy! I got to jumpseat BUF to JFK about a week ago on jetblue (full flight so they let me ride up front) . Everytime I jumpseat on jetblue it's always a great experience. Everyone from the gate agents to the crew go the extra mile to make you comfortable.

Glad you enjoy the ride. Welcome anytime.

Snuggle. You have a little something blue on your nose. Yeah right there. A little to the left... kind of all over. If you could just wipe that off...

OH GOD! DON'T EAT IT!!! :panic:

A blue booger?! Good golly how does that happen?

Eating boogers is bad. MmmKay.

(All in jest, folks. :) )

A pressed shirt, tie, and hat are not too much to ask for.

Maybe it's because I have a military background, and we actually took pride in our uniforms. Perhaps it's the fact that an increasing majority of civilian professional pilots lack any sort of military background and are use to wearing Abercrombie and Fitch and AE, and all the other usual young adult clothing brands that they don't know what or how to present themselves in a professional manner if it doesn't include a black or navy suit and dress shirt + tie.

Just an observation.

It's the military background, I have the same problem. Kinda sticks with you.
