Here's Moscow!
I flew with Staplegun too!
Also, we ran into Flyingsig who was also in Moscow on a trip and we had a chance to share some adult beverages and tons of laughs during the layover.
Here we go:
Staplegun:
Staplegun and I, midflight somewhere over the Atlantic:
Crazy Moscow STAR + transition + approach:
International conversion chart. Russians speak in "meters" when they issue altitude assignments. So if they say, "Descend and maintain 1300 meters" you have to convert it to feet and then program the automation accordingly. A little extra work, but it's not bad once you've done it a couple times.
Chart:
FMS showing "Flight Level 111" (actually 36,400')
Altimeter showing "Flight Level 111"
Chandeliers in the subway station:
One of the "three sisters"
Statue of a soldier with a hand grenade, I dunno.
Another one of the three sisters:
Famous writer. I dunno.
Strolling down the "mini Russian vegas" area:
Stupid flight attendant trick
Plot dat!
That's Flyingsig pushing back enroute to JFK (we're going SVO-ATL)
"Seven Two-ski" (Tu-154)
Sinister look... GRRR
An actual Airbus. Not even an "Airbus-ski"
Four-engined "Seven Two-ski"
Dee cee eight-ski (Tupolev or Antonov something or rather)
"Seven Five-ski" (That's an Tupolev 204)
Another JC'er caught in the act...
Greenland (not green at all!) We flew way north over Greenland and Iceland this track.
More pictures in the next coming days...
The trip is JFK-SVO-ATL(tonight)-SVO-JFK
