The brain trust was short a few neurons during LM's time.
A few? Surely you jest!
Too bad there are still some holdovers milling about VA avenue...

3. The best merger partner for Delta is Alaska.
You mean I might have to move back to SLC?!?

In the grand scheme of things, I wouldn't ever say "never", but it doesn't make any sense.
Now Dave we know LM and the gang was Delta's savior. That prophecy they brought in from the outside made him look like the reincarnation of Mr. Woolman.
LM knew banking but he didnt have a clue about this industry.
Oh I know. What is always forgotten is that ALPA leadership was rolling out the red carpet and striking up the band to get this visionary leader who had never spent a day in our industry. Anything to turn out the dummy who was saying Delta had to cut costs to survive past the turn of the century.
Delta needs to expand their SLC flying, then give all that flying to ExpressJet so I can then be based out of SLC.
Funny how rumors work, because the one around here is that Delta wants another 50 aircraft from us.
Even NWA has tossed the idea of a first class section on the 50 seaters around. Honestly, I don't see how it would be workable. They had 44 seaters (what it would be with a first class section anyway), but they converted them to 50 seaters b/c they were always oversold. Plus, I think there's an issue with the seat rails and where the seats for the first class section would be mounted.
I know that Mesaba's -900s are gonna have a first class section, as are the -900s we're getting for Delta. Word from the school house rumor mill (and on good authority since I personally know this person) is those planes are done and pretty much ready for delivery. The only question is "delivered to where?" We were SUPPOSED to get an announcement either this week or next week on where the new base is gonna be, but nothing yet.
Really...I know that you guys profide good feed. But the 50 seat market is a dead one. Everybody including DL want's 70+ seats, like yesterday!

Then why did Delta just give us 18 planes worth of 50 seat flying out of LAX?
