That Northwest has gone thorugh their recall list, and all pilots wanting to come back have.

So they will probably be hiring soon, with first classes beginning in the fall!!!

I hear United isn't far behind. Sounds like the severe drought at the regionals will continue indefinitely!

That word was on the street back in January. When no one wants to come back to your airline, it doesn't take long to go through the recall list. :)

Pretty sure they're doing the same as everyone else as they're experiencing many of the same issues. Some of them being fuel prices. Their biggest problem right now is probably their low staffing problem which is leading to canceled flights!

Yep. Financially, they're doing fantastic. If it hadn't been for paying the bankruptcy lawyers, they woulda been in the black every quarter since they entered bankruptcy. In fact, they're making money hand over fist, and the pilots aren't too happy about it. Management is looking at huge bonuses while the pilots get nada. There was a picketing event in DTW yesterday, and the pilots are asking for some of their concessions back. Honestly, the NWA mainline contract is Pinnacle's contract with slightly higher pay rates.....
 
When furloughed pilots don't want to return to their airline, it makes me wonder why anyone would.

I've spoken with quite a few UAL pilots that I know and still bump into. Other than trying to improve their seniority, none can offer me a good reason to work there.
 
Heh, I think at some point all of the legacies will have gone through bankruptcy. American BARELY avoided it, but it was at some serious cost cutting on labor's expense. US Air and CAL have both been in and out twice.

Because they aren't really "bankrupt"...well except for US Air. They never made any money, even in the heyday of $3,000 one way domestic fares.

DAL and NWA had billions in the bank when they filed, it was really just a way to discharge a whole lotta debt for free. Nice, eh?

Kinda makes me want to get a cash advance on my credit cards, pay off my student loans, and then declare bankruptcy. Hey, it worked for the airlines...

A lotta people do that. Then you can hire a lawyer to get it out of your credit. I've seen it happen b4.
 
It does happen a lot. Under law they cannot take your place of residency and your transportation. Before student loans were included but now even if you file for bankruptcy, you still have to pay off your student loans.

Yeah if ( somebody I know who was: ) a 777 Chief Pilot and Check Airman left the company, you know it is faulty in one way or another. The dude is now a VP of Flight Operations for a Fortune 20 Company in Cbus flying Dassualts and Citations!
