Am I missing something? PSA Hiring mins or lack there of...

Thanks for the info. I figured as much. So basically study hard, if your having trouble do what it takes to get out of trouble, be a go getter, and learn damn quick how to scan a glass cockpit, and read the gouge. Thanks for the replies. I'll just wait for Rachel to call, hopefully, not to long from now. Does
Microsoft Flight Simulator do a good job at recreating real world conditions for the CRJ? To me it seems it does.

The Wilco CRJ sim is pretty darned good, but anything with glass would help prepare a scan for the sim eval. It's a pretty easy transition from steam to glass.

HEY ETHAN, SHOULDNT YOU BE IN THE PLANE OR SOMETHING?????
TU 2403 GSP-CLT 1225 1307

Now that is JC dedication!!!!

I trip traded. I was sitting in the crew room in CLT. We FINALLY got wireless in there again. That said (and Lloyd is going to love this) I think I am going to break down and get a treo some time soon. I want the bigger screen for stuff and the palm software.

Yeah, I own the Wilco CRJ. I like it a lot. Now, I have never flown a real CRJ, but the wilco has all the systems, and a working FMS so it could really help at least get you familiar with the CRJ. I've been working with it on MSFS.

When you trade trips you have to let me know. How else am I going to stalk you?????

Have you thought about a small internet device?

In his (somewhat) defense, he had asked me what a normal schedule was like so I sent him mine for April so he could look at it. What is scary is that he actually went to check it after I posted. I mean, I love you man (not like that Max... don't get excited:)) but that IS sort of creepy.;)

Actually, I am really glad I swapped trips. The other trip was a 200 thought PHL and DCA. This was a 700 trip through CLT. I got to avoid the worst of the weather the past few days (although CLT was pretty interesting yesterday) AND I got the extra power of the 700 to actually climb out of all the windshear we did get. Good deal all around.

Actually I was watching alot of flights today, I had family (including my Mom again) traveling from PNS-ATL-DAY, and they talked about changing her tickets to MGM-CLT-DAY, and I thought I would look and see if you were flying. Then I saw you post.

I actually have a couple questions about it (the schedule), I need to email you those questions.

If I was stalking you, you wouldn't know it! :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Re: Am I missing something? PSA Hiring mins or lack there o

Where does PSA fly? I've been looking everywhere and cannot find any of the routes.

Re: Am I missing something? PSA Hiring mins or lack there o

No where interesting. Most of our flying is out of Charlotte. We do a little bit of coverage out of Philly and DCA as well. Unfortunatly we've lost all of our good flying to other express carriers.

Here's the list... I may have missed a few. Also, a lot of these places we don't go to anymore, or if we do it is very rare and just due to odd ball scheduling.

Hey BOB,
Out of curiosity, which base flies to PA, ie allentown, wilkes-barre...Also, does PSA have a training contract?

Re: Am I missing something? PSA Hiring mins or lack there o

You can fly to ABE or AVP out of all bases, I just did a CLT-ABE turn yesterday. You are more likely to get the overnights there if you're based in DAY or TYS.

No training contract.

Dang, that looks like it took a while! Don't forget MCO, we did a DCA-MCO turn on Monday.

Re: Am I missing something? PSA Hiring mins or lack there o

If you would sign up over at the PSA site you would have seen I copied that directly from the hotel wiki over there. And yes, when I set THAT list up, it did take a bit of time. That's actually a list of hotels that us and PDT use so there may be a few places (MCO, MCI etc) where we don't overnight but do turns out of.

I'm currently enjoying the wonders of the cow field in XNA.

Re: Am I missing something? PSA Hiring mins or lack there o

I think Bobdduck hit the nail on the head, they just lowered the mins to expand the hiring pool. I talked to Rachael today and she basically told me that since they lowered the mins, they have been getting a lot of guys with around 700-800 hours applying. So I think low time guys that actually have wet commerical tickets or those under 500 hours are gonna have a hard time getting a call from her. Sorry for the low time guys, hope it doesnt bum you out. But hey, the mins are wat it is, doesnt hurt sending your stuff in. You just never know these days. Good luck...

Nick

I have two friends that just graduated ERAU with me and both of them were hired by PSA AND BOTH had around 300 hours TT and very low multi.

Makes it difficult to keep instructing for me. But I'm going to try and hold out for regionals with higher mins like XJT. I'm told that regionals with low mins ie. Mesa ,are low for a reason.
