I can't wait for this, oh joy!

I think that your worry is all for not. Most of these planes will be flying in europe.

If they were to come stateside, they'd most definately be at mainline due to scope. Sounds like Bombardier is trying to compete with Embrarer's E-190/195!

Whatever you're smoking...I want some. The CEOs of republic, skyw, and mesa will be tripping over each other running to DL and UA et al to fly these things near cost in order to continue their exponential growth. Mainline management will threaten to kill the first born of each senior mainline guy. Mainline guys will give a little more on scope, and then regional guys will be flying these things at 50 seat +1.4% rates or less in the hopes of a three month upgrade.

I flew with this CA a while back who kept saying "your history shows your future." I'm still not sure exactly how true that is, the way things change so fast in this industry, but sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same.

haha, ouch.....calm down. Their payscale was to 99 seats. They would have to get more pay for 100+

Also, is bombardier still trying to make the C-series?

Just playing devil's advocate, if the companies mentioned were flying them "near cost" they wouldn't be posting hundreds of millions in dollars of profit per year.

I was reading through my SKW policy manual a while back and noticed that there is a payscale for 100-159 seat aircraft and I remember laughing and thinking oh lord I hope that never happens. First year FO pay $19.02..... Oh wait, add $.23 now woohoo! (I'm pretty sure I don't need a sarcasm tag)

Oh Gawd. I think just 20 minutes ago I read a thread about Skywest flying 90 seaters and though to myself that should be at mainline. Sorry, I'm a little behind on what's going on.

The SKYW 900's are limited to 76 seats per the Delta scope... Mesa is currently the only "regional" flying the 900 with 86 or so seats.

Still, I can't see how much further they can stretch that Challenger out!

some might argue that THEIR history shows OUR future!!

My understanding of economics is quite limited. However, the margins are quite thin, they're charging less than others and part of what makes that work is by sustaining steady growth to keep some of the costs down. Couple that with paying your employees rediculuous wages...
