hows this affect your battary discharge? least you got two alternators like the seminole

i am having a friend make up a harness for me, it will also help for when i get HIDsYeah, the highs are basically worthless now as far as brightness and distance goes. The beam pattern is better though. I have to buy separate kits. For comparison, normal halogen low beams put out 1000 lumens, highs are 1586. My HIDs put out 2650. That's as high as I can go with that color. I might get the whiter bulbs for the highs someday if I can find a deal like that again.
Also, GM in all their infinite wisdom in the 90s decided that it would be a good idea to turn off the low beams when you turn on the highs. STUPID!!!! If you really look at other cars though, they all do this now. They sell wiring harnesses to fix this though.
I know I spent months of research cause I wanted HIDs. I'm waiting when Walm Mart will have them available.
They do not recommend HIDs for high beams, cause it's not really healthy to switch the unit on and off. (selector use)
The best is when you have projectors i.e. the ones I have. Run HIDs on the low, a nice halogen on the high, and fogs.
I'm impressed with how my lights look, but I definitley would love to upgrade to HID.
Did you know they have HIDs for interior lighting too.
Tom, I passed you today on University. I knew it was you because I saw these bright headlights coming at me with a purplish tint. Then I saw the grandma car I've seen in all the youtube movies...haha
i got my projector replacements for my stupid 7x6 sealed beams today... will post pics once i get home to install :-D
You'll enjoy them. Did you get HID bulbs and ballasts with it?
